HELP! I have to go back to school next week! Ok, so today I just realized that I have to go back to school next week! :eek: (I am a middle school Spanish teacher.) I still have so much stuff to do before I return!! Is anyone else sharing my pain/joy? |
I'm right there with ya! I'm a PreK teacher at a public school. I am not ready to go back at all. |

I feel your pain 1000%! My district cut my position from Full Day Kindergarten teacher to AM Kindergarten only and after 4 years of this back and forth will I have a job, will I be unemployed every March I decided I was going to go back to school for a Masters in Social Work so that one day I could open a private practice which has always been another passion of mine. So I applied and enrolled in a program and was all set to teach part time and go to school full time. Well...about two weeks ago my principal called and said there was a Grade 1 opening and she wanted me to take it. Financially speaking this is a much better option for me as I was already freaking about how we were going to pay our mortgage so I took it. Long story short; not only am I going to be switching to a new grade and have to move all of my stuff from a huge room all the way across the school to a MUCH smaller room, I am also going to be going back to school part time, too! I am so frantic and nervous! :eek: |
I am also in the bilingual dept but I am an ESOL teacher for public school. Believe me I don't want to go back either. |

I would be going back after Labor Day if I were not renewing my sabbatical .... but I do feel your pain. The only ones who are truly happy are the "moms" who catch a break when school starts. I love teaching, but I hate waking up early ..... I am trying to make a career of "sabbaticals" .... |
I'm a university student and I absolutely feel your pain!! I have a little bit longer to stress about it (we go back the 5th - I have to help w/ orientation for the Freshmans on the 4th, though, so I'll be there all day then too :thumbdown). Let me whine a bit: I have Microbiology & lab, Pharmacology & lab, Nutrition Science (cellular study of what nutrients do in/to our bodies - cool, but hard), Clinical Chemistry, Maternal Child Nursing & lab, 2 12-hour clinical days at the hospital per week. UGH. |
YES, I feel your pain, too! I had to start back on Monday for meetings and such. Our kids come Friday! |
Not a teacher but a Parent Liaison for the school district and I start back to work on Monday, 13th. I'm horribly sad about it since it's rained so much here this summer that we really didn't get to do ANYTHING. |
I'm also a high school teacher. I already have students calling me about ideas for freshman orientation (14th). I love my job, but this is the toughest part...going back. lol I actually feel weird this year. We're usually in meetings by now, but our schedule changed for this year, and school won't start until the 28th. I keep thinking I should be in a meeting or something. :eek: Next week I'm going to go for a few hours a day to get my classroom/bulletin boards. |
I go back the 27th, I believe. I am NOT looking forward to it. I am having an ongoing problem with my advisor- she told me a class would count, it ended up not counting, but she told me she would make an exception. Now she has gone back on her word and it is NOT responding to my emails. :mad: At least I have a week at the beach and a week at Disney World before going back! :) |
back to school We don't have kids until after Labor Day, new law in Michigan..but teacher's go back last week of August so usually I don't start thinking about it for another two weeks but....................... I am the new freshman volleyball coach and the seasons just switched here so I started back Monday:( AND I'm switching to the high school this year so I have to get in and unpack everything and start over again so I DEFINITELY feel your pain:mad: |
I'm certainly feeling it! I've been doing stuff in my classroom for the last 2 or 3 weeks. I'm looking forward to the new group that's coming in. :D |
This summer went by way to fast!! I am excited, but very nervous! This is my last semester in college, and I will be completing my internship. I will be teaching kindergarten for the first half of the semester, and then first grade. I take the Praxis II test in September so I can get my teaching license. I hope I make it through :eek: |
