401 K question Is it better to diversified you 401 k or is it better to keep everything in just one place? I had everything in place, but last week someone advice me to diversify, but I don't know if I made the right choice. |
I don't have all my eggs in one stock or mutual fund, it's broken up into 5 places...that way if one does bad the basket still contains eggs...so to speak...:) |
Diversify!! |
Diversify. I have a small portion going to a guaranteed interest account. |
I assume you mean you have a 401k plan thru your employer. Ask your employer (or whomever your employer has handle your plan) to give you the investment options within the plan and also ask them how each fund has performed year to date, month to date and since the market has been extremely volitile, week to date). I would then ask someone with a bit of knowledge to help you with your choices. |

Diversify! Ask your HR people at work to give you your 401k contact and they can help you diversify correctly. It also depends on your age how much risk you need to be taking (younger = more risk and higher returns; older = less risk, lower more dependable returns). Good Luck! |
I also diversify and have always been told that's best. |
Remember Enron? It can happen to anyone at any time. I agree with the previous post - don't put all your eggs in one basket. |
Thanks ladies, Ya'll comments are making me feel better:) |
