Shedding ? any help with austin's shedding ?? i brush him every day with shedender and a undercoat rake is there anything i can add to his diet ?? im not use to this since ive only ever had nonshedding breeds |
Try some Linatone from dog.com. It made a huge difference in my son's lab mix. I give it to my babes; it keeps their coat nice and shiny and cuts down on shedding. Remember, however, that it is summer. They will naturally shed some of their coat to stay cool. Even humans lose an average of 100 hairs a day. |
my yorkie is 3 1/2 months old, and I think he sheds too much...my white tank tops will be covered in little black hairs, do they shed more as puppies? Anyone know? |
Puppies do shed their first coat while getting their adult coat, but if an adult Yorkie is shedding to the point that's it's getting all over your clothes, then that's excessive. It could be from dry skin, not getting the Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, or has a type of dermatitis. You can either buy salmon oil gel caps and put on food each day (which supplies the Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and is much cheaper than other products and goes further) or shed stop is an excellent oil for the problem and doesn't have the bitter taste like Linatone. |
Ah! I feel for you Lenora. Remember I used to have three little chi's and I didn't have any dietary secret to share, however, one thing that helped a little was that I would comb through their coat after their baths while they were still in the tub. I caught a lot of hair this way sometimes. |
