what hand cream and/or foot cream do you use? i have been through many many products and none of them have worked well with my dry skin. since it's summer, a lot of the creams and lotions feel slimy and sticky all over my skin which makes me not want to use them at all. what products have you used and recommend? i'm thinking about trying kiehl's. thanks! |
I use Aveeno and my mom uses Eucerin. I also use the Johnson and Johnson 24 hour moisture. I love the way it smells and it really helps my dry skin. |
I use Johnson's baby oil, and Johnsons baby lotion. They work great. |
curel has a new foot cream. i've used it. it absorbs pretty fast. a few months ago, i found these silly socks with a silicone heel in them. so i put lotion on my feet (heels) before i go to bed and put the socks on over them. it really helps and you don't bust your butt walking around or get fuzz stuck to your feet. you can recreate these with saran wrap and put a warm pair of socks over them. i normally wake up at least once a night when i wear them, so i just peel them off at that point. (they have no toes in them either) i have found that petroleum based foot lotions can smell kind of weird, but they work the best. |
Have you ever tried "surgeon's skin secret" from QVC? It's great! I prefer the stick. I just ordered the cream in the tube, but I don't like it as well. Great for those dry cracked heels!;) |
Do you have a Bath & Body works where you live? Try any one of their body butter's not the lotion. They are all wonderful and makes the skin so soft. ( for the body) I just purchased a foot scraper from QVC and it's wonderful. It came with a foot cream that looks and smells like orange sherbert. I have to check out their site to see if the foot cream can be ordered seperately. It's great. |
i forgot to add that i have slight skin irritations (kind of like eczema but not that harsh) but i have topical medication creams for that. i've used aveeno and eucerin, which worked great. i guess i'm looking for something new. johnson & johnson products seem to make my hands and feet all slippery. but omgosh, my aunt bought me those socks with the silicone heels in them and i know they work great, but the thing is...i hate having my feet in anything when i sleep. i kick and move around a lot (i know..poor bf, but even more, poor mocha! ) and having socks on my feet is suffocating. haha. what's worse was that...in addition to those socks, she had this heater on my feet all night because she said it helps, which i thought was bogus. i kept waking up with my feet sweating. gross. ;) i might try qvc. the reason why i wanted to try kiehl's is because my cousin has the same skin problem that i do, and she loves their products. they even have a pet section, but i don't think i'll get any of that for mocha. hehe. :) |
do your socks have the cut out toes? (my husband has a foot claustraphobia thing too!) and the heater might actually work AGAINST you by drying out the air and any moisture on your feet. i think the sock directions said something like, 'while sleeping or resting.' so maybe just sit your butt down and watch an episode of "flip this house" or "nip/tuck" and enjoy. you could maybe also try some of those foot warmers but they don't go over your heels. good luck! |
I like the Eucerin hand cream (in the tube, not the jar) for my hands etc. and Flexitol for my heels which get really dry and cracked. The Flexitol is found with the other foot care products. Eucerin is in the hand cream section of the store. |
Have you ever tried the Mary Kay Satin Hands? I would use the set on my feet and then use the extra emolient cream on my feet overnite. I sell mary kay so I am a little partial but i swear by that stuff. |

Sometimes my skin is so dry in the winter I wish I could fill the tub with with lotion and just ooze into it.... |
I cut out the toes in some of my running socks (any athletic socks will do...they're thicker than most so the cream won't seep thru onto your sheets)...Target has some great ones that I usually buy for this purpose. They come 3 to a pack I think. I just tried the Gold Bond Healing Cream which somebody here suggested (I can see your avatar, but can't think of your name, sorry!)...it's under the "drug store must haves" thread. I like it....also, I got a new metal file type of thingy made by Sally Hansen to get the dry skin off of my heels....it works better than almost anything else I've found (other than a $60 pedicure!). |
I have heard L'occitane hand cream works very good for dry skin. Also Aquafor at Duane Reade. |
Oil of olay! |
so i wrote down all your suggestions and went shopping today and i seriously could open up my own drugstore. oh, and i'm going to give those socks another try. hehe. thanks all! :D |
