How horrible. There was a school bus full of kids that made it out the back door of the bus. They said they ran, but I couldn't see where they could have run towards! The yellow school bus was in one of the photos. The parents were all so thankful to get their kids. Prayers for everyone involved. So sad! |
I cannot believe that!!! I FEAR that happening everytime I go over a bridge! What a tragedy!! I am praying for all those people. I heard it on the news this morning and was just shocked. I dunno I guess I always thought it was an unwarranted fear of my own... not something that could or would ever happen in reality. How sad and scary! |
I saw it on CNN's website! HOW HORRIBLE! I am more scared of bridges than airplanes, so this doesn't help! My thoughts and prayers are with the families and all people involved! |
My husband being born and raised in St. Paul has a sister who travels that bridge twice a day to work, and has all his family members in St. Paul. So far we have not had any word from his sister about anyone of the family members missing. I pray for all the ones who parished and their families. It seems the disasters just keep happening these days. |
I've been glued to the TV since last night - just awful. How frightening that must have been. It'll be weeks before we know all the details, but I'm praying for everyone. |
Omega, thank you so much for starting this thread. I saw your thread last night but didn't have time to post. Both my mother and dad's family are from St. Paul and I have been on the phone and watching the news since then. It looks like my relatives are safe but I can't imagine the horrible images the people that made it will have in their minds for a very long time and for those that didn't make it, I send prayers to their families and all that knew them. Hugs and prayers to all the children that were on the bus. :lovewings |
Prayers to all the families of those lost. |
The scary thing is they said that 30% of the bridges in the us have problems. I drive over one everyday. I hope that one isn't part of the 30%. |
Wanna hear something that gives me goosebumps? I mentioned earlier that I had given my Twins tickets for last night to a relative and he took his son to the game. I thought he had gone over the bridge right before it collapsed but here is what happened. He was driving towards downtown and was going to get on the highway and on to the bridge. At the very last second he had a feeling he should turn off and go a different way, so he did. If he had not turned off, he would have been on the bridge when it collapsed! I just get goosebumps whenever I think of it. |
WOW!! That is scarey! I haven't wathed any of this on tv. I have been busy with my Sister and family who is here visitig from Texas. My prayers go out to the familes who lost loved ones from this tragedy. |
I am praying for all these people! How horrible! |

I work in downtown Minneapolis. I had just gotten off work and got on to highway 35W North to go home. I was coming down the exit ramp to the highway when I heard a loud noise. I looked ahead and seen the bridge was missing! Then another part just fell out of sight and all you could hear was people slamming on their brakes. I just frozen I could not move! It was like I was watching something out of a movie. I remember hearing a man with a whistle blowing it and yelling telling people what to do on the part of the bridge that fell. someone came to my truck and ask if I was ok. I couldn't stop crying to answer. I felt so bad for the people who were on the part of the bridge that fell. I can't put that image out of my mind. |

Oh my, what a traumatic experience. Your guardian angel was on your shoulder that day!!! I flew into Minneapolis yesterday and could see the side still standing and where the bridge was down. It was eerie! |
