Some of the cars were flattened like pancakes but they pulled the people out alive and even walking. Amazing. I feel like I'm watching an earthquake movie or something. There were 60 kids on the school bus but it seems they are all ok - minor injuries. |

How scary. I HAVE to travel over a bridge to get to the other side of town, makes me worried. They are in my prayers |

Yes, them and the people who saw it happen. Also those trying to get the victims out right now. Now there is a storm moving in - lightening and hail. Good grief. We've been needing rain for ages and it has to come now? |

I can't imagine being there watching the bridge in front of me collapse and nowhere to go. |
So far 38 injured and one dead but they have just scratched the surface. I hope it doesn't go much higher. This just makes me want to cry. They just said that it's not a rescue anymore but a recovery. It happened three hours ago. 60 injured now - more drowning victims they haven't found. |

I lit a candle, and started a group: bridghttp://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng Maybe we could get others to do the same...hoping more are pulled out alive. |
what a terrible trajedy! I will be praying and Teri, please don't keep watching if it is going to be causing problems for you...take a break from the tv. |
Yeah, I was just thinking I should turn it off for awhile. Death toll is up to 6 now. :( |
How Tragic!!! I will be saying a prayer too. |
I have been watching it. Just terrible. I have a terrible fear of bridges over water. |
I saw it on the news, I cant believe the extent of it all. Im so sorry for everyone involved and I hope everyone is okay! |
Bridges are my number one fear...I get major panic attacks and cant even go over overpasses sometimes...how frightening!! Dawn |
Omega I am so thankful that your family was spared this awful tragedy. |
I feel so sad for all those people! I hate seeing things like this happen! I lit a candle and prayed for all the people involved in this tragedy! |
Death toll is now at 7! Oh, I feel so sorry for those people on the bridge and their families! It must be horrifying. |
I quit watching a while ago. I had to or I'll never get to sleep tonight. It's just so weird seeing something like that. So unreal... I don't think I could take living in earthquake country. :( |
OMG - that's aweful... Just watched all the news reports :.( |

My first thoughts when I heard this were of YTers in this area and of our co.'s colleagues in Mpls. I haven't heard yet if all of our colleagues were spared. And, as I cross the Mississippi everyday to get to and from work (from Illinois to St. Louis), I couldn't help but shudder a bit on this morning's commute ... Thoughts and prayers to all those who were affected by this horrible tragedy -- and to those who at least feared they might be. |
What a terrible tradgedy. I called my sister and her family right away all was well but she could not get ahold of my nephew as of 11 last night tried calling her this am and she is not home.I am sure all is okay or she woudl of called.Prayers for all who are still missing and injured. We use that highway when we go to the cities, was just on it 2 days ago. Cannot imagine that happening during rush hour. |
I lived in Mpls. for 5 years, my hubby grew up there. I was JUST on this bridge LAST WEEK when we were up in MN for vacation w/ his family. I remember how slow the traffic was bc of the construction in this particular area (summer is construction season in MN). My father-in-law travels this bridge every day to and from work. Thankfully, he's okay. This could have been so much worse, the only blessing is that it was down to 2 lanes. |
I saw this on the news last night. How horrible for those people and their families. What a nightmare. I travel on a major bridge daily and think about the same thing every time I cross it. I heard a young man rescued a handicapped man from his car. The poor man couldn't even get out to save himself. Who would ever expect such a thing to happen. I can't wait to see what the engineer's have to say after the inspection of the bridge. |
Prayers for the victims and their families . |
this has always been a huge fear of mine when driving over a bridge. Its like a nightmare. I am continually praying for the people involved in this and the families surrounding them |
I just saw this on CNN. Can't believe it! What a tragedy :( So glad to hear that you and your family is okay, Omega!!! Prayers going out to everyone involved. |
