Grating On My LAST Nerve!!!! The past month the flat above me has been empty and there has been workmen in and out fixing little bits and bobs but last week it was finally finished as there wasn't a great deal that needed to be repaired. TODAY the new tenant has his keys... AND DON'T I KNOW IT! Even when the workmen were here doing things they didn't make as much noise as this! He's not moving things in so there is NO reason for the banging! There are no carpets down so every single footstep is amplified ten fold!!! Then there is that hammering! What on earth can he be hammering! 5 hours of it!!!! The workmen fixed everything so WHY the need to be making the noise!!!!! ARGH! He bangs, Gypsy barks.... for 5 hours this has been going on!! She doesn't just bark once she goes on a barking rampage, running through the flat barking! I am absolutely SICK of it!!!!!! |
Wow I feel bad for you...my dogs would be going nuts to hear that too...maybe after today your new neighbour will settle down a bit..he must have LOTS of pictures to hang lol...hopefully he relaxes soooooooooooon!! Dawn |
Oh Vicky, I'm sorry. That has to be more than annoying. Hopefully he settles down and starts being quiet up there. |

He's never bothered to speak to me before and he lives across the road with his mother, his mum is really nosey too and we have a communal back yard.... this is going to be SO MUCH FUN!! :( I can't wait till I move now.,.. just need to find somewhere first! |
Why don't you go upstairs and introduce yourself. Tell him you hear he's been very busy, and you hope it doesn't bother him when your baby barks, but it scares her. Maybe he'll get the hint, and you'll be approaching him in a nice way. |

Bad neighbors are the worst. The couple upstairs make the most random noises.. I swear it sounds like they drop something at least 5-10 times a day. My two occasionally bark if they think someone is at the door or someone is being weird outside, so I try not to complain about them to much. You never really has bad it can be until you have had them yourself. |
I feel for you. My upstairs neighbors have two small kids who aparently LOVE to jump off of the furniture. I've complained to my apartment complex and to the people themselves. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put a three bedroom apartment above two singles was obviously not thinking. I realize there will be some noise, and I am understanding of kids, but this is WAY out of control. The parents do not try to stop them at all. |
I am sooo sorry! I know how you feel too, everytime I stay at my brother's condo there are these ppl upstairs that make SOOO much noise! They walk so heavily and talk loud. The dogs were barking non stop in the middle of the night cause of the noise they made. One time while I was in the balcony you could hear them doing it upstairs. I was with my grandma and she was like "What is that??" :yelrotflm :lol tears I acted like I didn't know but I knew damn well. She thought they were doing drugs or something. LOL |
Hate to hear that you're going through this. I had this joy during college. It's one of the only things about home ownership that I love -- NO COMMON WALLS!!!:) I'd like to get a condo or townhouse in the next few years, and I just cringe at the thought of having the experience that you are.:( Hope he gets settled and quiets down soon. |
I feel your pain! The people that live above us are extremely loud. He will bounce a basketball up and down their hallway and drop things. I think she runs up and down their apartment. My husband has been known to blame frogs on them. He kept saying the frogs wont be quiet outside so I went in there to see what it was and I said, "honey, that's not frogs. That's the neighbors." Lets just say their bedroom is above ours and they have a really squeaky bed. Yuck! |
I am so sorry! That has to be tough. How did he insult Gypsy??? Do I hurt him now or later? (LOL on the squeaky bed story!) |
