If you want a REALLY fast growing tree... I was looking for a fast growing tree and found the Empress Tree. I could not really believe it when it said they grow up to 15 ft. a year... yeah, right... :rolleyes: BUT... it does! When I read your post I thought, "What kinda tree grows that fast, it much be ugly!".... so I went and looked and OMG, what a gorgeous tree! It's really pretty... wish I had a garden! |
Beautiful tree, maybe we might look into getting one or two, have just the perfect place for them on the outside of the perimeter of our yards. We had to have 8 fruitless mulberry trees taken out last fall, the roots invaded our outside drain lines, had to replace all of the drain lines :( so we're not putting any more trees in the yard area. We had to have tractor work done, those roots were all over the top of the ground, and we even had pipes on each tree to deep water them :( no wonder our lawns were constantly wanting water. Thanks for posting this on this tree, the flower reminds me of the lavender trumpet vine plants that we have vining on the chain link fences. Very pretty. Patti and Jack |
Oh my gosh, that tree is GORGEOUS! I just LOVE trees...I could never live in a place that had no trees! I am going to get one or two of those! I absolutely LOVE them! So gorgeous! Thank you for posting this!! :D :thumbup: :D |
WOW....thats crazy. How big do they get, I mean they eventually have to stop at some point right? :p I am thinking it would be great for my yard too for privacy between my neighbors house and mine. :thumbup: Thanks for the idea, it is a beautiufl tree! |
so how are you caring for it? it says it's pretty tolerant on the website. i'd like more trees in my yard. did you order anything else from this vendor? thanks! maybe i'll get one...or 2! |

Just Ordered Two Thanks for posting and telling us about it. We are surrounded with red and white Oleander bushes, Crape Myrtle bushes, and tons of blooming plants. Our Cannas and Gladiola's done great this year amongst the day lillies. These trees will be a perfect addition to a well chosen area that I will be putting them in. Interestingly, Jack read that if they are cut back the flower production is reduced and that the leaves can get to two feet. Thanks again for posting this. Patti and Jack |
I forgot to ask...how long do these tree's bloom for??? I want to order 1 or 2, but would like to know how long they are in bloom ;) |

I decided to cancel and wait till the spring to get ours. They only had one foot trees. The young man I talked with was very courteous and answered my questions, he said they don't bloom till the second year also suggested to wait to plant in the spring, I would preferr not to have to do that and really would rather wait and get one larger, they have them up to six or eight foot tall, of course they are more costly. They are a tropical tree. He said they only bloom for about a month in the spring. Patti and Jack |
