Looking for a good tip roast recipe My store had them buy one, get one free so I bought two. But, I'm so tired of all the roast recipes that I have and am looking for something different. Anyone have ideas?:) |
I'm not much of a roast cooker, so I'm not really sure what kind of roast this is. Is it one that's needing to be tenderized? If so, I've got a fabulous crockpot recipe for them...or a couple. I don't usually use my crockpot and I don't make this very often, but when I did, it was really good. PM me if you want my recipes and I'll go find them for you! |

I'm not sure if where talking about the same cut of beef but if this is the kind that should be cooked so it's still a little pink like a rib eye roast, then you could cook it on the grill...I cook whole chickens, ham and turkey breast & ribs on the grill and it's all great, set it and forget it... mix about 4 garlic cloves, minced..2 tbsp. olive oil..1/2 tsp.salt...Prick the roast all over and rub w/ this mixture, wrap in plastic and refrig. for 3-24 hours. Wipe it off and now rub some pepper and garlic salt on..put it on the grill with no heat directly below the meat...place the meat on the side where the burner is off, cook on medium heat until a meat thermometer registers about 140 degrees.Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes or the juices will run out... If this is a roast where it has to cook all day like a chuck roast then ignore the recipe above...;) |
ok, I have this recipe I usually do in a crock pot. You can add carrots or potatos if you want. You just cook it with a can of cheddar cheese soup, a can of onion soup and a can of cream of mushroom (or broccoli), and that's it. Just cook it for the day on low and it really makes a nice gravy. |
I cooked one today! It was soooo good! I just marinated it overnight in red wine, then this morning I added carrots and potatoes (if you like onions, you can add them, but we don't). I added approximately another 1/2 c red wine and 1 cup water and a little salt then I cooked it for 4 hours at 250. It was perfect when we got home. If you want it for supper you can cook it the same way but in your crock pot instead of the oven. You can make gravy from the juices. I don't do it very often, but it is great to put on before you leave for church and have it ready for lunch when you get home. |
