Moving to Nebraska
 
I am moving back to Nebraska. Its no big deal but this time i have a hairy member of the family with me that most people wont see as a member of my family:D I will just be staying in Omaha for one year, which is just enough time to finish my Bachelors degree at UNO. I have one semester left but wanna give myself enough time to complete my degree. Does anyone in the area know of any apts that accept pets that would not cost me an arm and a leg?

Two years ago I was paying 515.00 a month for a nice two bedroom two bath in Laurelwood. (the pizza hut apts off of 90th and fort) but they didn't accept pets.

IF i get a car right away i may even do the council bluffs thing... Any Idea Nebraska people?

Welcome to Nebraska. Sorry you will not be a UNL! However, Omaha is good too. We can alway use more great people in Nebraska, and who knows, you may fall in love with us and decide to stay forever. Check out Lincoln sometime. We are a great city!:)

I did not read your entire post. However, our agency has our headquarters in Omaha, and I know lots of people who would be able to give you some good advice about apartments. By the way, when I was just out of college (many years ago) we had a friend who lived at the Pizza Hut apartments. Then they were August Moon apartments. Funny you descibe them that way too.:D

HAHA I was born and raised in Nebraska, and felt i needed a break 2 years ago. It was always me and my son, and now its me and my son and our RYO. I was even thinking about getting Ryo's brother to come with us, but I wont even suggest that to the breeder if i don't have roof over the first ones head. I wont be moving for another 3-4 months but I like to plan what i can ahead. IF i can find a place then I will go ahead and try to adopt RYO's brother and bring him back with me as well.

As for fall in Love, my bf to be , who i met at UNO in one of our classes Lives in Hastings and I told him the only way i would go back to Nebraska is if someone beat me and i was forced back; or if i could have him. So after I graduate I will hustle down to boring old Hastings where love is awaiting me.

What agency? and yeah everyone one called them the pizza hut apartments when i was younger because of the shape of the roofs. I think now they are called Timberidge. I lived there 7 years and then i came here. Now i wanna go home and if one more mosquito bites me as i sleep!!!! @#&!

I work for Nebraska Children's Home Society. Wow, I understand about Hastings. I could not live there. Infact, I drove my daughter around Hastings College when she was looking (in 1995), and she wouldn't even look at it.:D She went to Minnesota. I really like Lincoln. It is a great city, but I have never been a big fan of Omaha. I was born in Fremont and grew up in Illinois. I like the midwest, and Lincoln is a great place and really the middle of the country as well as on the interstate so you can get anywhere.

Well I like both Lincoln and Omaha as well. I have lots of family in Omaha, but most are not very dependable in cases like this. I just need an idea of nice apartments, as long as they are clean and don't have any bugs I am cool with that. I am also searching online but thas touch and go right now.

I wouldn't mind living in a place like Hastings or Fremont with a nice big property; if i had the income. oh, with a porch swing on the front porch like my grandma had.

I am laughing at ur story about ur daughter, that is too funny. Thas like the time a 22 years back when i went to Kearney and some lil girl pointed and said , "Mom, is that a N*****?" i stood back looked at my own mom and said "you have got to be kidding me. That did not just happen. " That says a lot about how behind in the times some cities are. I don't blame ur daughter one bit for wanting something better lol. Cause some of these places can get caught in a time warp. IF u can ask around and see if anyone knows of a few names of places, that would be cool. Like i said I have 3-4 months to look.

thanks so much. like i said I was born and raised in Nebraska. its one thing to move with kids... but with pets thas a whole other story. I think even if your pet is potty trained, your gonna get a bum rap until u can prove ur a responsible parent. and with no family and no need to actually buy a home I just want to ensure that i find a nice place for my whole family. Thank God there are some good Nebraskans here that can give a few bits of information tohelp me in my search.
