Locks of Love!
 
Today is a Big Day for me. I am going to cut off eleven inches of my hair today to donate to the Locks of Love Organization to make hairpieces for sick and underprivledged kids who need them. I thought that even though this isn't really pet related, it would be a great thing to post- Maybe inspire some of you to do the same. I logged on to locksoflove.org and looked at the kids that recieved their new hairpieces, and it is amazing!!! I highly encourage everyone to donate if they feel the desire to do so!!!

Val (PassionFruition) did this last year, if my memory serves me. My Daughter did the same thing a couple years ago. My own hair grows so incredibly slowly that I would have to grow and grow and grow for years to get 10 inches to cut off!!!!! And, I know they prefer "virgin" hair that is not chemically altered. Since I get colored every 4-6 weeks - that leaves me out!!!

Good for you. Would love to see before/after photos.

congrats. that's such a good cause. i wish i had known about it years ago when i had my long hair all cut off. I had AT LEAST a foot of hair cut off then.

I have a friend who donated a couple months ago. She grows it out and then donates it.

I think Diggy (Paula) is growing hers out to give to locks of love. Great thing to do!!!

Thats wonderful you are doing this!!!! I did last year and they cut off 8 inches i am growing mine back out again and hoping to have enough by the end of this year. My dad is even growing his out to donate to :)

Thanks for all the support! I kinda felt nervous parting with my long hair, but it reassures me that it can help someone else. Makes me kinda wish my hair grew faster, then I could Donate More Often- but like some of you- It grows slower than christmas and I have actually been growing it out for almost eight Years... gosh that seems like a long time.. Now I'm Rambling...

Hey, contact the Maury show and maybe you can get a free vacation by donating on his show. :D What a wonderful thing to do, and if I was young with long hair, I'd do it too. But my hair is only about 4 inches long. :rolleyes:
