endoscopy / colonoscopy tomorrow and I'm still scared! Tomorrow I am having the above mentioned tests to see why I am so anemic and why I keep getting sick. I'm not looking forward to it at all and am scared of what they find! The doctors say I am bleeding somewhere and they need to find out where. The thing that confuses me is if I am bleeding - where is it going? It isn't coming out anywhere if you know what I mean. Sigh. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I am so tired of all of this! It has been going on for months now and I really want to have some energy and fun in my life again. Hugs to you all, Lou |
I wondered, Lou. I knew these were somewhere on the calendar from your previous threads. Just think positive. It will be something simple that they can isolate and repair. Thoughts and prayers headed your way! |
I will keep you in my prayers that it is nothing serious. I have had both of those several times. The prep sucks but the tests aren't bad at all...love the "whacky juice" they give you. God bless you. Patty |
Just wanted to send good luck wishes for tomorrow. I hope all is well. |
tests I asked that same question about my daughters test..if she is losing so much blood to make her anemic, where is it going...? Never got a good answer..she had both tests, twice and they could not find a problem..so she decided to take iron and her anemia is under control. IF it wasn't for the "preparation" I would volunteer for a colonostomy every week..best nap I have had in years. |
Good luck with your tests. Every patient I ever knew to have a colonoscopy wakes up and asks "when are we going to get this over with" they're always shocked when they find out they're already done! Gotta love Versed :D |
I wanted to send well wishes too. I would be scared too but at least you are taking the steps to try and figure out what is going on and once you have that answer you can work on fixing it. Good luck!!!!!!!! |
Good Luck! Prayers coming your way!!! |
Just want to wish you good luck on your tests tomorrow. Don't be scared you'll feel nothing. A friend went through the samething your experiencing and she turned out to be anemic. She was also loosing alot of her hair. Being anemic can do many things to the body. She had lost of energy also so who would have ever guessed. It could be an ulser also. They come from stress. All these things can be taken care of with meds and proper diet. Try not to worry. Prayer's coming for you to get you through tomorrow. Good luck. |

Just checking in on you....today's the dreaded day...how you feeling?......hope this test gets to the root of the bleed for you...as bad as some test can be the not knowing is worse...Good luck w/ the results.... |
Just thinking about you and wondered what you found out from your tests. Hope they found what it was and fixed it. Patty |
Well that's over! The colon is fine - nothing what-so-ever wrong with it Yeah! But they found a really rough looking spot in my esophagus and they are doing a biopsy on it. I'm wondering if it is an ulcer. The esophagus is red and swollen. Funny, I don't feel a thing. The prep wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but that stuff you drink is AWFUL! The worst part is being so thirsty! That was miserable. That's all the news I have about it but I am feeling ever so much better emotionally. I really was afraid of colon cancer. I just didn't want to admit how afraid I was. Now watch me start obsessing about esophageal cancer! LOL. Thanks for your support and prayers everyone. You are all so sweet and thoughtful. I will let you know what I find out about the biopsy. By the way, how far up does a colonoscopy go? Are they able to go all the way into the small intestines too? I'm on my way to Florida tomorrow so I don't even want to know what the test results are until I get back. I'm going to visit my Dad's grave and spend a couple of days on the beach. Then I need to get down to Arcadia and visit my mother who has Alzheimers. Life is just a bowl of fun these days. NOT! Thanks again for your support. Hugs to all of you! |

Glad to hear your tests went well.. so fear so good...you must be so relieved...have a safe & pleasant time visiting ...the beach sounds like heaven.... |
I am so glad to hear that your tests went ok. I was in just a week or so ago and had the upper one done again. I also had a rough spot and they did a biopsy and it came back fine. Here's hoping you get the same results. Have a nice trip to the beach and try to relax. Patty |
I'm back from vacation and have talked to the doctor. He said he wants to do a capsulized endoscopy. That is where they make you swallow this horse pill that has a little camera in it. It takes thousands of pictures as it travels through your whole intestinal track. He just isn't satisfied with the results from the other two tests. Something is making me bleed an he can't find it! I feel a lot better since I prescribed iron supplements for myself but I am still bruising! You should see me after being tumbled around in the Gulf of Mexico. I'm not getting sick to my stomach every day either and I'm down to about two migraines a week. Vacation was quite nice and relaxing. We had a beachfront room on the ground level. You could walk right our to the beach from our patio! The bar, a snack stand and the swimming pool were only about 50 feet away! That was great and we really relaxed. |
Prayers are coming your way. I hope they find out what's the matter. Mine turned out to be I wasn't taking enought iron. Started taking iron and I was fine. |
