Little scary kids are the worst!!! Where we moved to there's a lot of 2lane roads surrounded by trees, so I always tell my fiance "What if we saw a little girl walking around in a white nightgown..."..that freaks us out more than anything!!!


Here's something else that used to really scare me, my aunt told me a story of once when she was a little girl, that she stayed home from school one day sick and when she got out of her bed, she felt someone touch her ankle...I can't remember if she said it was a dream or for real, I'll have to ask her about that. BUt that scared me to death! I always had to check under my bed after hearing that.

I do not like those ventriliquist dummies. I know I spelled it wrong. I don't like puppets on strings either.

OMG! I thought I was the only one. I am terrified of scary little kids (i.e. The Ring Boy, Damien from The Omen) *shudders*.

I'm also scared of those scary movies with little kids singing or laughing. I swear one night, I was sleeping and I heard little kids outside laughing or running around, and it turned out to be some stray cats. I hid under my blanket, sweating until I really had to pee.

No you're not alone! Little kid ghosts are probably the scariest..atleast to me they are!

I've heard of spontaneous human combustion, I saw a show a real long time ago on it, freaked me out!

My biggest fear is drowning and big waves/floods. I have a dream at least once ever other week that I am in a flood or a giant wave is about to crash on top of me..makes my lungs hurt just thinking about it! I dont like doing things in the ocean or pool where I am not in control (horse playing, chicken, being thrown in, tubing/skiiing, etc). I will burst into tears if someone tries to throw me in...I hate hate hate it!

I also hate driving by myelf at night time out in the country where its really dark..I am afraid some thing/one is going to jump out right in front of my car..

AND also..I hate creepy crawly things..

I knew this girl who was TERRIFIED...to the point of tears...of condiments..mayo, mustard..ketchup, etc...

Bloody mary was the reason why i cant go into the bathroom without the lights on either....good thing the light switch is on the outside of the bathroom.
my husband is one of those men who wants everyone to think that hes tough and basically a man...you know what i mean...not in a cocky way...but you let a spider get anywhere close to him and hes screaming like a little girl!! LOL..he makes ME go squash the spider!! I thougt he was suppose to be the one doing that...lol..oh and hes a softy for yorkies too...

Ooh...this could take awhile. Airplanes, snakes, walking near the edge of somewhere high, doctors (:rolleyes: ), illness, hanging my arm off the side of the bed (boogie men under the bed might grab it), walking outside alone in the dark, real-life blood and guts, scary amusement rides, gory horror movies. That's enough for now. I am proud to say that feathers DO NOT scare me!! :D

I started trying to think of odd things my friends and family are afraid of.

My husband is afraid of maggots--not just disgusted, but afraid of them.
My sister is afraid of my bird. (Really, I think she'd be afraid of any bird.:rolleyes: )

I am deathly afraid of balloons too, I thought it was just me. When I used to work at Little Ceasers, they tried making me blow balloons up. As soon as i sarted blowing it up, I got queasy and fainted. I cant even eat at restaurants like Red Robin, that have balloons everywhere..uggggghhh...

That's funny. I don't do that either! My grandmother, who was the sweetest woman on earth so this was way out of character for her, told me that that gives the devil the chance to grab onto you at night. SCARED ME TO DEATH!

Now that I think about it, it was probably just so I wouldn't kick the covers off.:D

I also am scared of big bridges like the Bay bridge and water. I can't swim so that is probably why.

Okay, this is going to sound weird, but I really can't stand cotton....like cotton balls ewwwwwwwwwwwww just thinking about it is making me shudder! I can't stand the feel of it, so I won't touch it! I always have to get someone else to pull the cotton out of medicine bottles.

It's funny, but one of my brothers and one sister are the same....and so is my dad...and one of my daughters. No one knows why :confused:

Midgets....

I know it sounds mean, but midgets freak me out. And I'm sure its not exactly politically correct to call them midgets, but I don't care...they scare me. I even have a cousin who is dwarf (she is like 2' something), and she scares me. I think this phobia stems from a good ol' high school urban legend that there was a community for midgets near my house, and of course we had to go check it out every time we had nothing else better to do. Never saw a midget there once, but everyone says that they come out and chase you. Most of the time I would turn around before we even got close enough for anyone to know we were there. So my apoligies to any YT'er that is vertically challenged... If anyone has a fear of blondes, I will not be offended!

Being a full blooded indian (or Native American to be PC) we grew up being afraid of owls---was told that they were shift changers or sta'gennies,,,not as afraid of them now,,,,dang! I miss grandma and her stories,,,

The bay bridge definately scares me. Did you see the wreck they had on it about a months ago? I would have been terrified.

Afraid of??? ...Weelllll, not afraid,but it would drive me insane..... nails on a chalkboard.....putting my tongue on a battery... sand in my shoes.....or looking at maggots.....

OMG you all have no idea how much this thread has helped me feel better that i am not the only one scared of some of these weird things!! i really thought i was crazy but now i know you all are just as crazy as i am lol i don't feel so alone hahaha. i wanna add that i am terrified of anything that comes in those cans that you have to pop like the biscuts and crossants that you have to peel the paper and they pop open lol i have to go in another room and plug my ears when they are opened hshha. i really thought i was a loon job but i feel so much better now thank you all!!!

Well, I'm not afraid of those cans that you have to peel the paper and pop open, but I will say that I cringe if they pop in my hand before I wack them :D It doesn't bother me at all if they stay closed till I wack them, but if they pop spontaneously in my hand - eeewwwww!!!!! :mad:

I have one more thing that bothers me - I'm not really afraid, but........

I can't flush the toilet in a public place (in a small enclosed stall) until my hand is on the door to come out. When I flush I have to get out of the stall as soon as possible. I'm OK if I am in a large stall where I can stand away from the toilet.

And I HATE those automatic flushers that flush before I can get out or worse yet :eek: flush when you reach for the toilet paper before you get up :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

For some reason I have a vision of the flushing water spewing up and into my face. I know, I know, that is stupid, but it really bothers me.

I don't have a problem flushing in a public place, but I can't pee in public! I mean if I have to I do, but if someone else is in the bathroom I can't..not a fear or anything, just something that I for some reason I cannot do. Once my friend was in the bathroom and I went in a stall to pee, she kept talking to me, and i couldn't go...when I came out she was like "I thought you were pooping" LOL

LOLOLOL, ist it funny how we all have these little fobias, well not little to the one that has them.

I am scared of snakes and mice- we live 20 miles out of town and one day hubby went with some friends for a bachalor(sp?) party and was going to be gone for the weekend I was excited, some peace and quiet. I was watering my plants and on a Pothos plant I thought it was a few yellow leaves and went to pluck them and they moved. SNAKE!!!!!! we had heavy rains and it came up through the heater vent. Anyway called hubby and ask him if he had started drinking and he said yes, told him my problem and they all laughed, but came to my rescue(no-hubby didnt drive) when they got here they were all laughing and teasing me, when they got this thing out, there was no more laughing, this was just a bull snake(very common here) but it was 7 1/2 feet long. Needless to say they DO NOT tease me I know to much.

Bridges over/on water. I am from Seattle, Washington and there is a bridge there that is on the water. This is not a short bridge either. Parents had some friends they would go see and I would hide on the floor in the back till we were across it. That was 50 years ago and I still think of that bridge.
