Hugs to our friends in Europe
 
I was saddened to hear about the recent terrorist activities and attacks in London and Belfast. I am sending out prayers and warm thoughts to all of you. I hope everyone is well.

I didn't hear about Belfast but the footage from Glasgow was scary indeed. Lucky they didn't make it into a crowded terminal ...

Thoughts and prayers to our friends "across the pond.":)

GOOD Thread - one of our members is only 30 minutes from that blast at Glasgow airport....Thank you for posting this - HUGS to Julie !!

I think the Police are doing a great job rounding up these sickos and can't feel sorry for the one who died but do feel for his family.

It's all getting pretty intense here at the moment. They've raised the security alert to it's highest & there's lots of police activity, with arrests in several places. They are saying there could well be more problems to come & asking everyone to be vigilant. Just like we had to be when it was the IRA planting the bombs.

It's just been reported that two of the arrested men, one involved in the Glasgow airport suicide bomb attempt & one arrested on the motorway in Cheshire, are doctors who were working in hospitals here.

That is so sad. Why would doctors be involved in something like this?? I just don't get it. Be careful!

I read they were doctors, did you see though that both of them are from a different country and that have only been in the country for a couple of years... this is exactly what annoys me about our country just letting anyone in...

I could rant and rave about this all day but for fear of offending someone I'm not going to but it really riles me! :( :mad:

My daughter is on vacation in France and is leaving there tomorrow morning and has to change planes at Heathrow in London. She called a little while ago and said she is nervous. My cousin works in security for the British governmenty and lives outside of London and his dtr works for British Airways the airlines my dtr is traveling on and he assured me that is was safe and they have a real good handle on things. I hope so for everyones sake. My heart goes out to all those touched by this. Stay safe!

Sometimes you wonder if the news has blown it all out of proportion... making it more of an issue than it needs to be. I'm sure everything will be fine. Put it this way, aside from reading what I have on the 'net I've not seen anything on the news because I don't tend to watch it and there has been no extra bulletines or anything.

You're probably right. The media does have a tendency to exaggerate. We are thinking about you just the same. You're smart not to get caught up in watching all of the coverage.
