Changing topics or thread stealing or whatever you want to call it! Just a little bee in my bonnet here. :) When someone starts a thread - especially if it something in particular and not a random topic, why do people post in the same thread about totally unrelated subjects and then the first poster never really does get the answers/support they were looking for? I just think it's bit uncaring, you know? I have seen many threads go completely different ways from what the poster wanted to know. To me, it's like telling the poster that what they wanted to know wasn't important so they just start posting other stuff. I know it's normally not intentional, but maybe we could all be a little more careful about it? Ok, off my box now.... :D |
so the other day i was walking down the street and there was a big lion... sorry, i couldnt resist :D i understand what you are saying and have thought the same thing myself. i start reading a thread and then it turns into something else. i know i have been guilty of replyin to something that becomes off topic in a thread. |
Ya know, my morning has started off pretty good. I got a couple bows made and ...... Yea I have seen that on occassion too....or sometimes when you are trying to catch up on a thread you lose the real reason for the thread trying to understand the stuff that was random thrown in...or if you're like me you are so confused and like "how does that relate to the OP??" |

Aren't you funny! :D I know it's an easy thing to get off topic, but I guess I think about the person wanting advice or support and feel bad for them.:( |

:lol tears Ok, you guys are asking for it! If THIS thread gets off course, I'm going to turn my computer off and cry. :( :( Or maybe not. |

Teri, all kidding aside, I agree with you 100%. You are such a dear to remind us that we need to stay on topic. Thanks.... |
Thanks for pointing that out. I admit to being guilty of this a time or two. It is very easy to get distracted when other people throw in random things. Sometimes I need to go back and see what the actual question was to begin with. I am glad you posted this because I have been looking for some nice bows.......Oh wait a minute.... |
Thanks for posting this. I believe I tend to do this on occasion...or maybe quite a bit more  I will definitely try to stay on topic more even though sometimes it's hard for me..haha. I think it is rude when people "hijack" a thread for their own use. It's not that hard to start another one, but I believe most of the time it's unintentional (at least from me...) |

there are two or three peoplee on here that are notorious for going off topic. I have to admit I have been quilty of it myself. |

... But your not gonna stop it..it a genetic thing in females, we read a thread & it conjures up a related thought in our minds & off they go.. you would have to completely change the female DNA  |

And Terri, we totally get your point and we understand. I am sure all of us have had someone hijack our threads and run with them on occassion...I know I have had it happen and I am sure I have been guilty of being off topic too. So get out that wet noodle and beat us. LOLOL:D |
I seriously doubt that no matter how far off topic that everyone goes there is no way Teri will shut down the computer and cry! I think Carol with like this thread very much! :D |
