Has anyone been to Hawaii?? If you have where do you suggest I visit? I am planning to go soon..don't know when but I def. want to check out as much as possible!! :) |
serval years ago... I only went to a couple of different islands, but those that I did visit were beautiful..definitely see the active volcano(s), the black sand beaches, pineapple plantation, macadamia nut farm, and attend an authentic luau. |
I've been to Maui and LOVE it there. simply amazing vacation. LuvMySissy goes to Maui a lot, i'm sure she'll have great info for you |
*raises hand* I was born and raised there. Depending whether you want to visit a busy island or a quieter island, Maui - not as busy as Oahu, but not as quiet as Kauai - Haleakala Oahu - very busy - Waikiki - Diamond Head - North Shore (where I grew up) - Polynesian Cultural Center - Sea Life Park - Waimea Falls Park - Hanauma Bay Kauai - very quiet - beautiful beaches (well all islands have this :p ) Big Island - very quiet - volcanoes - macadamia nut factory / farm - Hilton Waikaloa Village (my fave) I know the most about Oahu. There's a lot more to do, but this should get you started. Also, are you planning on bringing your pup? Because if you are, Hawaii has strict quarantine laws so make sure you read up on the requirements otherwise your pup could end up in quarantine. But if not, happy researching! |

I went to Oahu for my honeymoon in November. We loved it...didn't want to leave. There was alot to see on that island. I can't wait to go back and see more!!! |
Yes I definitely love it there. It was a great place to grow up. I go back at least once a year. Even if it's for a weekend. In fact I'm going there in 2 weeks for my 25th birthday. Most of my family is there including my parents and brother. I moved to California almost 7 years ago to attend USC and for a change of scenery I guess. I will move back someday after I get my masters and taking my yorkie with me. I haven't really seen any yorkies in Hawaii. I saw my first one here in CA. |

I'm sorry, I'm rambling. There's just so much to see and do. |
I was in Maui 3 wks ago and it is gorgeous. My husband and I did a bike ride down one of the volcanos and it was really neat. Probably the best thing we did while there. |
I've been to the Big Island and Maui - I love Big Island MUCH, MUCH more. Maui is busy and crowded in places - the road to Hana sucks bc of traffic. I would HIGHLY recommend the Big Island - less crowded, gorgeous beaches, amazing lava, less "developed", the road to Hilo is worth it, Kona is neat, horse riding in the Waimea (sp?) valley was beyond. We stayed here, at the Mauna Kea: http://princeresortshawaii.com/mauna...ort-hawaii.php. Very private, amazing snorkeling. Staying in Kona would probably be fun too - plenty of condos there, which might be more affordable than a hotel (food). |
I'll let you know when we return in two weeks! We're leaving Saturday! Gonna spend some time on Kauai (sp?), Maui and Oahu. I can't freakin' wait! |
You guys are soooo lucky. I went for graduation but it was a bad experience. My friends ditched me, one spent all her money the first day on jewelry and I ended up using my money to feed her. :( Totally sucked. |
My husband and I went to Maui for our honeymoon and can't wait to go back!If you're headed to Maui don't miss Seven Sacred Falls (or Pools?) We spent the entire day hiking and enjoying the beautiful scenery and pools. We thoroughly enjoyed taking a Catamaran out snorkling too. |
