For all you mothers of human babies! I know this is wayyyy off topic, but I have no one else to ask that would know, besides my mother... Anyways.. Lately I have been having really sharp pains in my lower abdomen. Their like shooting pains.. it hurts even when I walk. It's been going on for like 3 or 4 days. I know it's not my aunt flow, cause she has already visited this month. What could be wrong with me? Could I be preggo????? Oh lord! If any of you know what I am talking about, or have any suggestions, please help! Sorry this is such a weird thing to ask, but I figured since there are so many women on this site, and most of you HAVE kids, and have been through all of that, maybe someone would know...? Thanks... |

I used to get pains like that when I was ovulating. It used to feel like some one was sticking a knife in my side. I dont get them now though dont really know why, they just went away. Do you still have your apendix?? I know that apendasitis is some what like that too cause I had that also. Not fun. But I had a fever and stuff too when I had that. |

I immediately thought appendix but there are many things it could be. You should call your doctor. |

i would call the doctor i had something very similar going on with me a couple of months ago it turned out i had a bacterial infection in my uterus doc gave me some antibiotics and the pain went away thank god |

If you just had your period for the month, its very unlikely that you're pregnant. Pain in your ovaries is called Mittelschmerz (silly!) and I have it. |

wow i'm having the same thing too! i've been to the doctor twice..and they cant figure it out!! all they can come up with are bladder spasms! but even with the medicine.. it doesnt seem to be helping! |

I have the same thing, and they have gone through everything from my appendix to kidney stones to endometriosis (sp?) to ovarian cysts (eventual diagnosis). Definately go to the doctor ASAP though, a ruptured appendix is not fun at all. It could be your gall bladder too. Call your mom (I know, I know) and ask if there is anything like that in your family. Most stuff like that is genetic. |

Ouch! I hope you feel better soon, but Id call the doctor. It could be a number of things. Well wishes for you and thoughts your way! |

I get very sharp pains in my ovaries... I never knew it had a name. What a funny name. I'll have to remember that. If your AF was here about 2 weeks ago it could be ovulation. The only way I think it could be a sign of being pg is if you were going to be having af any day, and your body was just starting to realize you were pg. (you usually can't tell until about the time you'd start anyways). I'd go to the doc to make sure it isn't any kind of infection. |

I can be the first to tell you how dangerous abdomen pain can be. Start with your GYN doctor. He may send you to a gastro. I know, I went through it. My GYN did a sonagram. There he spotted a mass in my colon. I went to the Gastro doctor, and he immediately put me in the hospital. I was transferred to ICU. My colon ruptured and now I don't have a large intestine. So to everyone, don't out guess your tummy. There are way too many things that may be wrong. Don't be stubborn like myself. If I had listened to my instincts, then I would still have a major part of my digestive system. It all started with a crampy feeling on my left side, then sharp pain, then it was hard to walk. |
