I cant Sleep Hi I need hellp I dont know why but I cant Sleep I can for a little bit but thats all do you know what I can do? |
go see a doctor. maybe you will need a little something to help you. it may be stress related too... i have a very hard time sleeping, too much on my mind, then again, i was always a light sleeper too. i stinks huh? |
Do you have trouble falling asleep or can you fall asleep but not STAY asleep. |
1. try to establish a routine (for example, take your shower and read for 15 minutes) because this helps your body "recognize" time for sleep. 2. stay away from overstimulation ie: movies, the computer, exercise 3. write down the thoughts that are keeping you awake. my husband's friend will say, 'the commitee was in last night' and we know what he means. 4. tense all the muscles in your body as much as you can, then slowly release them one by one, enjoying the relaxation 5. get out of bed for a few minutes in a dimly lit place (so you don't become truely awake) so you don't worry about what time it is and how badly you want to sleep. however, if this has been happening alot alot, there are some things to consider-- how old is your mattress? do you sleep with a wiggly partner of ANY size?? do you snore? it could be you wake yourself! do you have allergies? i hope that helps. sweet dreams! t |

Wow... I got sleepy just reading this! Yoy soung like you really know what your talking about! I'm going to guess that you've had to deal with some sleeping issues too.... ;) as have I... And those are all GREAT suggestions!!!  |
i learned the tense/relax trick about 5-6 years ago. i don't normally have trouble sleeping, but my husband does. he is very anti-meds, so that's why i didn't really suggest it right away. some smells might make you sleepy. they always say lavendar, but personally it smells like the little flower shaped soaps in my grandmother's bathroom potporri dish and i hate it!! my sleepy thing is hot chocolate. if i drink hot chocolate it makes me sleepy (i normally do it in the evenings). but in texas it rarely gets cold enough to enjoy. i'm trying to think of other things that might be affecting you... is your room to bright/lit? is your pillow too old/soft/hard/smelly? if you sleep with your hands next to your face, do you like your lotion or do you still smell like dishwashing liquid (in your brain that = work!!) try these things and let us know how it goes. and no YT before bed!! stop at least 30-45 minutes beforehand. (a great time for a relaxing bath/shower) |
I have always heard drinking warm milk or warm (decaffeinated) tea before bed helps relax your body, so you can fall a sleep. |
ooo i love the "sleepytime" tea by celestial seasonings. they also do a chamomille that is pretty tasty, too. i think it has something to do with it bringing your core temp to the right level. (whatever that means!) |
