You know what's awesome about being pregnant? I'm sure Maria can agree with me on this, I can smell everything!!!! I feel like Ive been given superpowers, lol. I think I could walk around blindfolded and smell my way around:p :p I wonder if this is even remotely close to how well our yorkie's can smell? Sorry to be so random, its just Im enjoying smells so much I had to post it to the world! :D |
Your so cute Shana! All I could think when I read this was.... thank heavens for potty trained yorkies! LOLOLOLOLOLOL k |
LOL you ARE a superhero, you're having a baby:laugh: :D You're going to notice all kinds of things, some great, some not so much. But it's a wonderful time and I hope that you enjoy it. I felt like a walking science experiment with mine;) |
That's so cool! :p |
Yep, it's cool when it's a GOOD smell! ;) When I was pregnant with my first daughter, there was a 5 miles stretch of road being redone and every single morning and evening when I drove by it, I had to deal with the smell of fresh asphalt and construction - super stinky times 10!!! |
I forgot about that! You're right.....now I remember! |
Can't say my smelling improved, that can be a good thing but then again maybe not  ...I must say when I read the threads title the first thought that came to mind for me was, I finally had great breasts!! (really miss those). |

Oh Shana...it's a novelty right now that you will come to hate. Oh man oh man...you have no idea what you are in for with the super smeller. One of the best things are the loaner boobies that you get...he he. |

HAHA I've heard that from every pregnant woman. Ok now I'm curious..lol |
Loaner boobs are great for a while, depending on how "great" they get! I went to a double F! with my first! Congrats on the new baby on the way, this is journey you will always remeber! :p |

Well saying that I don't know if you want a girl or a boy like your hubby...but if it's a girl I hope you'll get one of each...that way you'll both be satisfied.LOL |
I had super smelling with mine too, but it went the other way. I constantly could smell the bad smells. I was like "what is that?!" The litter box was the worse and being prego I wasn't supposed to touch it but i couldn't stand it. I looked like a scene out of Back to the Future. I'd suit up, Gloves to my pits, protection googles and a bandana over my face so i could clean it out. |
I thought not having to constantly suck my gut in was a really great perk;) . And having everyone say "Don't do that, let me" or "Don't lift that, I'll get it". Already had the boobs, just got MORE of what I didn't need. I didn't notice a change in smelling - I've always had great smelling and hearing. I did develope an alergy to my contacts, tho. Couldn't wear them at all. |
LOL you're so crazy - wait till the smells make you puke LOL  ENJOY IT GIRL .....I always loved being pregnant even when the heartburn was so bad I wanted to cry - it's a special time and the best thing is - you're never alone with that tiny being in your tummy.....it's the best feeling |

Glad you're enjoying your new nose. :D I think I got sick so much cause I could smell everything so much more and even smells I usually like made me sick. :( It's kind of like when you quit smoking - it's like tasting food for the first time!:) Ok, that was kinda random, but it popped into my head. |
OH you guys are making me so jealous....hubby and I have been trying for about 6 months now and no baby yet:rolleyes: I am so happy for both of you though. :D :D |
I thought you where going to say, you can eat almost whatever you want and not feel to guilty about it. Scent you do split the cal's with the baby :p You are lucky you dont live in Germany with all there "nurtural" air. I have smelled a few things going out into the country area, that smelled like nasty feet mixed with old cheese and rotten whatever.:sickie: I am from TX, so I know what the country is supposed smell like... and thats NOT IT! Have you felt the baby kick yet? When you do, that little thump ant nothing! Just wait till your 6th or 7th month and that thump turned into a swift kick. :p Whats really cool is when you are able to see the baby move in your tummy, from the out side. It kind of looks like that old alien movie where the alien is about to POP out of that ladies stomach. |
Hi Shana, Enjoy your "superpowers" while you can! I loved being pregnant (only blessed once); but one of the negative effects was I couldn't stand the smell of cooking beef! I remember putting a roast on to cook and going to visit my sister for a few hours. btw, did I say CONGRATULATIONS! yet? The privilege of growing life inside is (imo) woman's greatest blessing.:) |
Aside from the current headaches and occasional moodswings this isnt so bad at all. Prior to 2 weeks ago before changing my diet to healthy foods, giving up soda and taking prenatals I was uper tired and feeling crappy but now I feel awesome. And it is super nice having my husband make me dinner everynight, I think I could really get used to this:thumbup:  . SO far the smells dont make me sick, they are wonderful (well unless Penny has gas :D) |

So far I dont feel anything in the belly except extremely bloated! Ive never in my life been so bloated and I actually have a pooch of a stomach because Im so bloated, it is so weird feeling. |
I used to get sick opening me refrigerator~~ My husband used to tell me to breathe through my mouth. That would make me gag even worse. LOL Something about all of the food smells combined did me in. That and bacon! |
