My neighbor is so stupid....Does anyone else have stupid neighbors? My neighbors moved in a couple years ago and they have never liked dogs (or kids), so I don't know why they moved into a neighborhood with both. They knew this when they moved here. They have called the dog catcher on my dog and my other neighbors dogs too. Our dogs are not mean and I am not going to chain them up or keep them fenced in all the time just because they don't like dogs. They are an older couple and they are not very friendly with anyone here. Anyway my other neighbor had a beagle that dug one of her flowers up last year (he died last year suddenly). Since then they have just nit picked everything that our dogs have done. They have landscaping with roses and little pebbles around them along their drive way. I know that the dogs walk through the rocks and across their yard to get to the creek, but they don't dig in them. Well they have put rat traps in there!! Can you believe that.. Is a rose bush worth possibly breaking a dogs foot or leg, or if Hannah got in it it could kill her, not to mention there is small children in our neighborhood. If my dogs get hurt because of that trap I will make sure they regret ever moving here. They are so cranky that they called one of our neighbors and told them that their children was making too much noise bouncing the basketball and they asked them to stop (it was 7:00pm in the summer and they were at their own house playing basketball). Does anyone else have neighbor problems? How do you deal with them? |
Be a responsible pet owner and keep your dogs off their property....that is how you should deal with it. |
Where we live, we have leash laws. Dogs cannot be off your property unleashed. Responsible pet owners do not let their dogs on other people's property. You never know what they can get into. I do not like other dogs on my property. This is my pet's safe haven - no other dogs allowed or I will call the dog warden!!! |
I tend to agree. The best thing you can do to be a great pet owner and a good neighbor is to keep your pets in your own yard. Also the law will be on her side if anything happens and your dogs were on her property. In the end, it will save everyone much grief--you included--if you make sure they stay in your own yard. :) |

They sound like freaks. HOWEVER, I would keep my dogs in the fenced yard or on a leash. There's too many horrible things going on in the world & you just never know what someone's capable of. What if they hurt/killed your dog because they caught it doing something (or even if it wasn't doing anything)? |

I would defenilty keep my babys from going any where near there property, omg rat traps:mad: they could get so hurt, i keep mine in there own fenced in back yard, that way no one can come in and they cant get out. |
I just think that is so mean that they would rather see a dog get caught in a rat trap than to have them walk across their yard. It takes a mean hearted person to do that...IMO. |
These neighbors of yours sound like cranky, hateful old farts. I would be VERY careful about not letting your dogs onto their property. If they put out rat traps, who's to say they haven't put out D-con or some other poison. I wouldn't trust them... it's sad, but there are people out there that hate dogs or pets and would probably find joy in causing them harm or death. Good luck. I wouldn't want my kids anywhere near them either! |
Thank god I have GREAT neighbours that LOVE my dogs..most of them come over to chat with the dogs over the fence...I dont know what I would do with neighbours like yours...definetly keep your dogs leashed as they may end up doing something nasty to your dogs just to be rid of them...sounds awful but it happens all the time..years ago our dog was poisoned by who we think was a neighbour when we were in a different town..of course we couldnt prove and the dog was ONLY on our property...so just be careful of these people.. Yes, I wouldnt want a crabby old fart like that living next to me or anywhere in the neighborhood for that matter. I would, however, never let my dogs out to roam the neighborhood by themselves. Too many people wanting yorkies and will do what they can to get one for free. Mine stay in my back yard where I know they are safe. I don't like it when neighbor dogs come and crap in my yard either so I can't say I blame them for getting mad. |

I would go over everytime the set those darn traps and set them off and just not let them see you do it. or call the cops on them for doing it. It could hurt a Kid! I don't think they would do anything about the dogs if they got hurt but if a kid got hurt even on there property they could get a fine or worse! |
