I am busting with pride
 
I just came back from an award ceremony at the H.S.
My youngest grandson Johnny was inducted into the National Honor Society
and holds a 4.0 average. He is in the seventh grade and has been high honors
all along. He is also MVP in all three sports.(Football, baseball, basketball) I am so proud of him. I only
wish his grandfather could be here to experience this wonderful giving
boy. He certainly has a gift. Were praying for a scholarship down the road
into an Ivy League School. Plus he's handsome and looks like me:D

That is so wonderful when the kids are doing so well!!... I would be beaming too...I bet Grandpa was there also beaming with pride...:thumbup:

AWWW. That's so great! Congratulations! I'm betting Grandpa was there, too.

A few weeks after my grandmother died, I competed in a state spelling competition. I was upset because I'd wanted my grandmother to be there and I wasn't concentrating very well. (My grandmother taught me to read and write, starting at age 2-3, and always kept after me about spelling and penmanship,etc.) All of a sudden, the side door to the room opens and then closes. It was an unseasonably warm day with NO WIND and this was a heavy door! My mom and I just looked at each other and smiled. I had the resolve I needed -- and WON!

That's a beautiful story and one I truly belive in. When my youngest daughter
got married 10yrs ago it was a very clear day in Dec. She had a Christmas
wedding and was wishing for snow:eek: No snow in sight but when they
were exchanging rings the snow came down very lightly which we could see through the windows and stopped as soon as it started. We new Daddy was there and we were all crying.

Carol - that's just awesome and now I see where your happy tears came from in the other post you just did....what a proud proud day for him and his family. That's really something to be bragging about - not many kids these days are that well rounded and SMART too ! Do you have a picture of him ?? I'd love to see this handsome boy that looks like you :)

Yep I do. Haven't been able to get involved with the computer been busy
with all the grandkids ending their school year and awards ceremonies.
Last week this guy presented his big brother with a scholarship award
the family has had going for almost 20yrs in my husband's name to his
brother Chris. It was an athletic award which he earned. What a moment
that was. I was going to post that pic but haven't had time. I am truly
blessed. The older one is handsome too but does not look like me:(
He graduates next week.

That's awesome! He's got some good work ethics, that only a great parent can instill in kids. Good job to both of you! He's worked really hard and I'm sure he's got a wonderful future ahead of him! :congrats: :bravo: :usastar:

Thanks everyone. I feel so bad for the kids especially the boys because
their grandfather would have been so much a part of their lives. He was
a football crazed man:D He lived and breathed football. He coached,
officiated and was president of the club here in town. When he passed
the town named the H.S. football field after him. So for his grandsons to be playing on it just adds pride to their already many accomplishments.
Oh well let me get back to work before I make this a crying morning.

You get out there and strut your stuff, Carol;) . You have every reason to be proud of all your grandchildren. I'll bet Johnny learned much from his Grandpa and that's why he is such a shining star. We both know Grandpa was there to see it all happen. Congrats to you and Congrats to Johnny:) .

Carol, you can be so... proud of your grandson. :) He sounds like a great kid. I truly believe that his grandfather can see his accomplishments. ;) You sound like one super grandmother, yourself. :smile: Thanks for sharing your family life with all of us. :)
