Mikey is out of Surgery
 

Hello,
Everyone. For starters I need to say that Yorkietalk prayers really do come true. Mikey had his surgery at 1:00pm today. And they did not have to place a shunt in his head to release the fluid from his brain. They did a cut in one of the ventricals in his head and drained all the fluid out manually. the doctor told my daughter 8 in 10 children they do this to never will need a surgery again. 2 percent will need a shunt later on. So lets keep praying he is in the 8 percent of the children.
He is doing great. he is very alert. He is able to move all his limbs. He wants to suck on his hand so much.
I will continue to keep everyone updated on his progress. They are keeping an eye on him for a couple of days to see if everything goes well. He is in the regular children's part of the hospital now. He is out of the NICU and out of Pediactric ICU. They put him in The Barbara Bush Children's hospital part of the hospital.
I want to thank every one that prayed and lit candles for my grandson. They were very much appreciated by me and my daughter. She cried when she looked at the candle screen and saw over 100 candles lit for him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I went and spent the day with them today. I finally got to hold him while mom went to get something to eat. He looks so good and is just a little ham. I just wanted to take him home and love him. He has to stay for a little while longer. They have to make sure he can hold his body heat on his own and he has to be able to take his feeding without bringing them back up. My daughter was released from the hospital today. she is staying at the Ronald McDonald house and at the hospital with him. I will keep everyone posted. The thread had been moved so I do not know if everyone is getting the updates. IF not I am very sorry.
I used to get letters saying some responded to my posts or the posts i responded to. i have all the right things click to make sure that still happens but since they switch over to the new server I haven't received saying people are responding. i just don't understand.
Until I have a new update I will be back then.
