Can't live w/ it... can't live without it....I am not a phone person :callme: ....Sometimes I think I could actually have my phone shut off & I wouldn't miss it....I've been to other peoples homes when the phone rings they will literally push each other into the walls, knock the phone off the tables, or even start wrestling over the receiver while the person who called is hanging on the line :shocked7q ...there's not any one I want to talk to THAT bad...I've even been in the car & wanted to throw the phone out the car window a few times....actually I've even seen phones along the side of the road, hhmmm, some one had the same urge I had...Do you think you could live without your phone? (well, except for emergencies). |
Pretty much. It IS my computer connection though, so that would be bad:) |
I had my computer hooked up to the phone years ago, then we finally switched to cable...there's noooo going back.lol ...When I had it hooked up to the phone line I could click on a page & leave the room to throw a load of laundry in & come back & it would just finish loading...oh my! & when some one would pick up the extension & I would here that,"Good Bye!" from AOL... I would freak out, " WHO PICKED UP THE PHONE!!" every one would hide, "It wasn't me!"... Defiantly don't miss those days.lol |
I am SO with you on this. I am terrible about keeping in touch w/ people, mostly bc I hate the phone so much (but I'm great w/ email!). I NEVER, and I mean never, pick up my phone when it rings (unless it's my hubby or sometimes my sister) - I'd rather they leave a message and I'll call back when I'm in the mood for a chat. In fact, we don't even have a home phone anymore bc all it served as was a message holder! LOL. So, now we just have our cells. |
a house phone i can live without...but not my cellphone...it is my connection to my family all over the world...i have a very strong bond to family...and unfortunately some are still back in Vietnam...and the rest is spread across the states... and when i forget my cell phone somewhere i feel incomplete and naked...like i am missing something...and i hate that feeling...kekek |
We dont have a home phone only cells too. We only used our cells and got alot of telemarketing calls on our home phone when we had itI have a kid so couldnt live without my phone |
I can live without my phone...but not internet :D |
I could live without a phone. I don't like talking on the phone except to my family anyway. I like email much better! :) |
Our home phone has the voice announcement of who's calling so you don't have to look at the caller id, I just mute what I'm doing & if it's not my kids it usually doesn't get answered....if a call comes up private we never answer it, our thinking is if you wont tell us who you are, you don't get answered  Sometimes when someone is here & the phone rings I don't pay any attention to the phone & the person looks a little disturbed that I'm ignoring a ringing phone, they usually say, "Aren't you going to answer that!" I always say , " Just because it rings doesn't mean I HAVE to answer it, that's what the machine is for." some people seem really perplexed that you can actually chose not to answer...I find it a bit amusing at times watching them squirm ...;) |
My kids are like that drives me nuts. They're run to my cell phone and say your phones ringing. I'm like ok. They freak that I won't answer it. I'm like that's why I have voicemail. I have a few friends that are odd about it too. One if she misses a call will *69 or call the number back. The other emails me the number and asks if I recognize it. Talk about paranoid. We get calls at work too, "someone just called me from there". By the time I ask everyone if they called this person I'm like "wrong number" we must have misdialed. It happens!! If someone doesn't leave me a message and I don't recognize the number... oh well it was either a wrong number or not important enough to leave me a message and they can call back. I like the security of my cell phone, I'm just not OCD about it. |
Nope, I sure couldn't :p My hubby calls me from work, so I must have a phone around to talk to him otherwise he wouldn't be a happy camper ;) Also, there is the fact of emergencies :p And I have to be able to talk to my mom, and my best friend  However, when my sister calls me FIVE THOUSAND TIMES A DAY - I DEFINITELY feel like throwing the phone out the window...or in the toilet...or whatever :p She drives me NUTS!!!!!!! And that is putting it LIGHTLY. My husband gets so sick of it too, seems like every time the dang phone rings her name is on the caller ID    |
Don't ya love those calls where they ask,"What cha doing?" & then proceed to just breath, as if you called them, & they want you to entertain them!...Heck I was busy before they called... Stedmansmommy, I had a sister that called EVERYDAY w/ the same three complaints: imaginary illnesses, boyfriend problems, imaginary people who where "out to get her", I was sympathetic for a while (stupid me, I allowed this for about 5 yrs.) then I started getting brutally honest or I would get very sarcastic (I like this approach best) she lasted about 1 1/2 yrs. w/ me ...then she found another person to drive insane... |
I could not live w/out my phone! |
I could not believe it when I heard Oprah say she does not own or carry a cell phone...:hmmm33: |
soooo with you! Quote:
The other day the guy Im dating says he'll leave work, shower and be over (this was in the morning he said this about after work that evening) and around 530 he calls me... he had nothing to say! I got so aggravated I said "WHY did you call??? your coming over... I will see you in like a 1/2 hour why would you call??" (Im so mean!) :lol tears :lol tears |
