Which One? Blackberry Pearl or T-Mobile Sidekick 3?
 

I will be getting a new cell phone and am totally stuck between the Blackberry Pearl and the T-Mobile Sidekick 3. I have no idea which one to choose. Does anyone here have either one of these phones and if so, what do you like/dislike about them?

I do alot of texting, which is one reason I was looking into the Sidekick, BUT...a good camera is also really important to me and the Blackberry Pearl seems to have a much better one from what I saw today when I went into T-Mobile to look at them both.

I DO like the fact that the Sidekick has a bit bigger screen on it - but as my husband was saying....what is more important? A screen that is a little bigger, or one that is much more clear? :rolleyes: Makes total sense to me.

One thing I do worry about with the Sidekick though is the way it swivels open. I am just wondering if over time it gets loose or flimsy and if anyone here has ever had it actually break on them? Because for the price, I really don't want to go through all that :rolleyes:

Anyway, I will be reading reviews online for both phones, but if anyone here could give me some reviews on them, that would be great as I trust pretty much everyone here ;)

I have the Blackberry Pearl with T Mobile and I love this phone. I don't text message much but I do email, and this phone is great for that!

i would say a sidekick... would LOVE to have one if Alltel offered one...

Brooke I have the Blackberry - I can not live with out my email girl and I love it for that!! I do not know much about the sidekick so can not help you there but I do love my blackberry!! :thumbup:

i have a sidekick and i adore it!!!! i have heard the blackberry is good too but i do love my sidekick!! it does not have a good camera at all, but it has great email and text messaging and aim, yahoo, and msn messenger! also it is cheaper to have a sidekick then a blackberry. the blackberry service doesnt come with unlimited texting and the sidekick does! thats the main reason i havent switched, bc it is more reasonable. plus, i am really hard on my phone, i drop it at least once a day if not more and it withstands a lot...hope this helped, any more questions feel free to ask!!

mmm, how about the iphone instead? hahha, i kid. my friends sidekick actually broke pretty easily, so i recommend the blackberry!

I have the BB Pearl. LOVE LOVE LOVE it...my boyfriend just got one too he liked mine so much. It has tons of features; and can be customized like crazy. I highly recommend

Thanks SO much everyone :D All of your replies were greatly appreciated!! :thumbup: I ordered the Sidekick this morning as it is just so great for texting, which I do ALOT of. I really do like the Blackberry Pearl as well though - and it seems to take GREAT pictures...but, I DO have my digital as my main camera, so really that aspect of it isn't THAT big of a deal. And the Sidekick does have a camera, so as long as it DOES have one, I'm good to go ;) Also, I do alot fo IM'ing with Yahoo, and AOL on my phone...and the Sidekick has these messengers (as well as MSN messenger) already built in - which is perfect for me. It just had alot to offer that I needed (full QWERTY keyboard, built in IM's, camera, MP3 Player, Bluetooth, Online capabilities, large screen, etc., etc.) :) Was quite pricey, but hopefully I will love it and it will be well worth it ;) :thumbup:

I was thinking about getting the BP pearl too vs blackjack.
I'm not to fond of SK3 since I alrady have SK2.
but since tmobile pissed me off yesterday It kinda help me to not renew my contract and just move on to AT&T ( Cingular )

Uh oh :p Sorry that you had trouble with T-Mobile. I've been with them for over 7 years and never once had any issues with them. Cingular is a different story though :rolleyes: I won't EVER have my service with those people :p They ticked me off about 2 years ago with my husbands cell phone that he had for work, we had on going issues with them for MONTHS!

I have never had a Sidekick, but read online that the SK3 is supposed to be much better than the SK2. Again, this is just what I have read from several reviews. I actually didn't read hardly ANYTHING bad about them at all. I messed around with it for quite a while in T-Mobile yesterday though, and I think I will really like it and think it will be perfect for me ;) :thumbup:

My friend just got the Blackjack 2 days ago and seems to like it so far although she said that it seems very complicated, but then again she isn't very tech savvy :p Not to mention she has only had it for the 2 days, so it will probably take her a while to figure out all the specs on it and learn how to use it.

How'bout the Iphone! It is really really cool!Can't wait to get it:D

I'm obsesssed with my sk3!!!
I love it...so easy to chat and text and I can access the internet as well.
I haven't had any trouble with the screen. I know it feels kinda flimsy but it's pretty durable. All my friends have sidekicks and no ones had trouble w/ the screen yet. You will love it =D
