Expedia -orbitz - Or Travelocity? Hey guys Im about to book my trip to Vegas.... any pros or cons on any of them? I normally use a travel agency but she cant get in for less that 500! Any help is appreciated. Just wondering if one was better than the other... |
isn't expedia with hotels.com? if they are which i'm pretty sure..I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy! I have a few stores to share about hotels.com...:thumbdown Our trip to Pennsylvania i'll never forget we booked a hotel with them and made sure to choose the NON smoking room when we booked it on the computer...when we got there turns out hotels.com didn't say anything to them about it and they couldn't do anything cause all the nonsmoking rooms were taken already! The lady at the desk told me this had happened countless times before...we had no other option and were forced to take it and when we woke up the next morning we had sore throats and red eyes. Turns out that hotels.com doesn't guarantee that you'll get nonsmoking and they just put you in if they can find any room. We tried them again..figured maybe it was just a mistake or something...yeah sure...this time we were in the car and we booked over the phone...I specifically told the guy how many people we were and our ages and he booked us a room at a hotel nearby. We get there very late at night tired, exhausted, fed up...and we go to check in and the lady at the counter tells us that the room is only for 4 people and we couldn't have all 5 of us in there at once..oh great..so she called up hotels.com and she was arguing with them about some fire code or something...and I over heard the lady from hotels.com saying that its not their problem and the hotel lady should just deal with it and let us stay I got on the phone with her and said OH So thats how you treat your customers, its not your problem?? she made up some bull... I don't even remember what she said...but we lucked out and the lady at the counter broke the rule and decided to let us stay.:thumbdown There was another story but you get the idea.. |
I use expedia and travelocity and cheaptickets. And then when I find which airline travels to which destinations, I will go to the airlines website. Air Tran had a good sale last week, don't know if it is still going on (www.airtran.com). Good Luck! Janelle |
I'm nost sure if Expendia is connected with Hotels.com or not, but I've always had great experiences booking with them. I always check around different sites before I book, including the airlines. Many times once all the fees are added in, booking online with the airlines is the best way to go. And, most of the airlines now offer vacation packages, where you book the flight and hotel room and both are at substantial discounts. |
I used Orbitz last year for my flight to Cancun, the worst part of that was connecting through Miami Intl Airport. For hotel bookings I always check their websites. Also, you may want to check into Restaurant.com for discount meal coupons which saved us some cash on our Vegas trip last year |
You might also want to try Yahoo's FairChase. It searches all the sites for you. Just go to Yahoo Travel and choose the FareChase tab. Hope that helps! |
I always use Expedia. I always check out all of them and it seems Expedia is the lowest. |
