Did you ever run into someone you haven't seen in a few years & the whole time their talking to you all you can do is think..." My G*D, have you gotten old!!!...What in the world happened to you!"....This has happened a few times & when me & my DH walked away he would say, "Boy have they aged!"...I said to him, "They probably just said the same thing about us" :rolleyes:... I often wonder if I look older than I am or younger...I still feel like I'm 30 but the mirror says otherwise...:D

LOL my little sis and I do this all the time.
to eachother. She is 4 years younger but looks 4 years older to me LOL

I know exactly what you mean! I ran into someone the other day at WalMart and I thought -- Boy have you gotten old and FAT! And that hurt 'cause I know they were thinking -- Boy Cindy has gotten OLD and FAT! :lol tears

Getting old is the pits, but the alternative is even worser! :-(

MY sister is also younger by three years but she was a heavy sun worshiper, she woulds dump baby oil on & lay out in the sun, then in the winter she would go to the tanning booth, I told her, "Your gonna pay for that."..and she is, she looks older than me now...I love it :D

lmbo, I have done that .I hate to run into someone I haven't seen in awhile and see that expression on their face. I have gotten old and fat!!!!! I think we don't see ourselfs as well as others. Think About how you look in outside lighting or in the department stores.SCAREY!:eek:

I ran into someone here in TEXAS I knew way back when in Rhode Island. I would have never known her if she didn't come flying up to me screaming my name...

All I kept thinking is WOW did she age badly and just hated myself for thinking it....We hadn't seen each other in 25 years and she said she'd have known me anywhere - where I still couldn't put her face with the girl I USED to know - she'd changed that much

I know that look... LOL ... It's that deer in the head lights look & then stammer for something to say... in their head you know their thinking, " OMG! Think fast, say something else!!!"...because they can't say ..."Hey you look great!!"....because you both know it's a lie...

LOL!! I've ran into someone from long ago once & they where all excited & all I could think was, "Who the h*ll is this?!" she kept talking & I wasn't even listening cause I was searching my mind QUICK for something, then it was that ..."OOOOHHHH! Now I know who this is, oh my!!"

It's even scarier when you see yourself totally in a photo...when you look at it & don't even recognize yourself that's a rude awakening...I've seen pic's & thought, "Is that me?!!" totally ruined my week...

Yeah, I think we're all guilty of it if we're honest. You can't be too hard on yourself about it, though -- unless you start saying things like, "Gee, Jane, it was really nice to see you again. A shame you've turned into such a fat, gray-headed slob.":D

People put WAY too much emphasis on external beauty, but that's the world in which we live. I've met some truly beautiful people who weren't much to look at and also some incredibly good-looking people whose hearts were blacker than coal.

I hear what your saying about beauty & personality, they def. don't go hand in hand....I was making a reference to how well a person holds up to the aging process....some of us seem to grow mold faster than others..;)
