Anyone own a Dell Laptop? I am looking into getting a smaller laptop for school to make it easier to carry anyhow I was looking into dell and wanted to get some feedbacks on how well it operates and any negative things I might want to know... |
We recently bought a Dell Latitude. It's officially for my hubby's business (I'm doing the bookkeeping on it), but I'm afraid I use it more for online and writing, lol. It works great -- let's see, we got it in Febuary. We also got the longer life 9 hour battery which made a huge difference when I'm out in about. The settings I have on the computer makes it to where it the 9 hour only lasts about 4-6 hrs, so I can just imagine how short of a time the 6 hour would have lasted. :) Good luck! |
thanks.. I was actually debating the 9 cell battery too..lol.. but I am usually plugged in to the wall at home so that's hardly a problem... |

lol.... |
I have a dell lap top, inspiron 6000 and i love it:) i bought it 2 yrs ago, when you call dell they build your puter just the way you want it so its really nice took about 3 weeks to build and another couple days to ship. i have had no problems at all and another nice thing is if you do have a problem there support team is really great they will even come to your home instead of you taken it in.i got the 5 yrs in home warrenty with mine. good luck i think you will like it:) |
thanks ! I owned a gateway years ago and it left me with a sour taste just wanted to get some feed back on the dell though.... thanks! |
I'm using a Dell inspiron 1100. I've had it for a few years now. The good thing about it is that it is easy to get replacement parts for. I've had to replace the screen (son threw a toy and it hit it and broke). The hard drive crashed after a couple of years...new one only cost about $50 and just slides right in. It has seen some hard use and keeps coming back up for air, so I can't complain. |
I have a Dell Inspiron E1505....have had it since Christmas. So far...so good! I didn't get the larger battery and it definitely needs it. |
I bought a DELL inspiron 1505 for college and it works great! Its kinds big so if u want one to carry around then id recommend the one smaller that the 1505, which is the 1405..my friend has that one and its lightweight. Ive had mine for almost a year and its still working great :) |

also those of you with Dell's .... If i wanted to buy a car charger can I buy it elsewhere or does it have to be from Dell only? |
i have only had dell laptops and i loveee them!!! they work great, but i do suggest the 9 cell battery, i have it and it really comes in handy! i do have to tell you, make sure you get the extended warranty. because i forgot to extend mine, and now if anything goes wrong i have to pay for it. for example, my bella steps on it all the time and broke my keyboard...lol.. |
I bought my dtr the Inspiron 1505 last summer. We did not get the larger battery and it only lasts about 2 hours not plugged in. I just had to order a new charger 70.00 as the old one the cord ripped and the first one Cali chewed through. And I had to buy a new battery which was 130.00 as we kept getting the message the battery has reached it's life or something like that. The computer gets a lot of use and we have been happy with it. |
thanks guys for the feeback... I will be adding a 9 cell battery to my list ....thanks! |
