and i did read that they can or do lead to a full stroke. thats the scarey part

BUT, if you take care of yourself and follow your treatment plan, they can often be stopped or minimized. If you have to have a type of stroke, they are the best type. Now, just figure out how to NOT have them and you'll be cookin' with gas!!! :)

Hi Elaine, Just read this, wanted to say I am praying all goes well with your Dr. apointment today. I had a stroke this past October. I know what you are going through. Take care of yourself, it is good to hear you are enjoying painting, I use to paint, hope to get back to doing it again. Got Jack started today with his painting, it is great therapy. I also saw your profile you are a lot younger than myself, please think positive. Positive thoughts are important for our well being. None of us in life know what one day to the next is going to hold and for myself I try to surround myself with good thoughts and doing things that I enjoy at home. I lean heavily on the Lord for his strength through all things and what ever in this life I must endure.

Here is a wall clock I cut out of wood and painted years back for our Son, Daughter In Love and GrandSons. Thought you might enjoy viewing it. I always loved painting children and animals and oh yes scenery, and everything else that comes to mind :) hope you keep painting, did you find it to be relaxing?

My MIL went through this two years ago.

They put her on some meds and you'd never know she ever had a problem at all.

I had never heard of tiny strokes before that----at first I was like, "how can that be?" but now I know.

Nothing but good thoughts going your way.:)

Its okay to be scared. If someone said they werent they would be lying. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and Im hoping for a fantastic outcome. Good luck at the doctors. Please keep us posted!:thumbup:

THINK POSITIVE. Sounds crazy, but it carries a whole lot more weight than we give it credit for. I have a sign that says "Your attitude almost always determines your altitude." And I really believe that.

Lots and lots of prayers and an extra helping of POSITIVE thoughts headed your way.:)

thats good to hear when i heard "stroke" i was so worried.....thank you all for making me feel a little better and explaining things :)

I'm sorry to hear you had a stroke.
that clock you painted is beautiful. years ago I painted ceramics and loved it, but the shops slowly dissapeared....I dont know of any around here anymore.....I painted a few purses I got at yard sales. and yes it is relaxing to paint.
a few pics of my new purses...dont know which one i wanna use first lol
the maltese purse is painted front and back..the yorkie is just the front...

I never knew of them either.....I'm glad she is fine now with meds ..that makes me feel alot better thank you again.

Yes, you could have had more. The good thing is, this one was caught! :thumbup:

TIAs usually lead to strokes which is why they're so important to catch early.

TIAs aren't really "mini strokes" it's just easier to understand for people without a medical background - it's a similar process in the body.

I'm glad you're going to see your doctor. :big_hug:
