and i did read that they can or do lead to a full stroke. thats the scarey part |

BUT, if you take care of yourself and follow your treatment plan, they can often be stopped or minimized. If you have to have a type of stroke, they are the best type. Now, just figure out how to NOT have them and you'll be cookin' with gas!!! :) |

Sending big hug to you Elaine. Patti, Baby Blessing and DollieDae Here is a wall clock I cut out of wood and painted years back for our Son, Daughter In Love and GrandSons. Thought you might enjoy viewing it. I always loved painting children and animals and oh yes scenery, and everything else that comes to mind :) hope you keep painting, did you find it to be relaxing? |
My MIL went through this two years ago. They put her on some meds and you'd never know she ever had a problem at all. I had never heard of tiny strokes before that----at first I was like, "how can that be?" but now I know. Nothing but good thoughts going your way.:) |

Its okay to be scared. If someone said they werent they would be lying. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and Im hoping for a fantastic outcome. Good luck at the doctors. Please keep us posted! |
I am sending prayers your way. We are all here for you. If you feel worried, start up a new thread and 'talk' to us. We'll keep you busy!! (hug) |
THINK POSITIVE. Sounds crazy, but it carries a whole lot more weight than we give it credit for. I have a sign that says "Your attitude almost always determines your altitude." And I really believe that. Lots and lots of prayers and an extra helping of POSITIVE thoughts headed your way.:) |

TIAs usually lead to strokes which is why they're so important to catch early. TIAs aren't really "mini strokes" it's just easier to understand for people without a medical background - it's a similar process in the body. I'm glad you're going to see your doctor. :big_hug: |
Hi Elaine just wanted to let you know I will have my phone by me at all times and am Praying all goes well. |
Was thinking about you, Elaine, hope you got positive news at the doctor's today...Please let us know...What time was your appt? Maybe it's too personal to ask, but do you have any chronic health problems that may have contributed to TIA's? If so it's imperative that you take care of those issues, control them, so as not to let your health decline. Sometimes TIA's can be a blessing, a signal that there's something wrong and needs your attention...just don't ignore it...follow your medical advise, and I wish you a full and total recovery. Take care and I'm sending more prayers!!! |
thank you ladies, and once again yt prayers worked....my dr doesnt think it was a mini stroke, but he said he doesnt want to rule it out since he didnt see me monday while these things were happening to me.....he looked over all the test results and said the only thing he is worried about is i have high colesterol...but he said keep taking 1 baby aspirin a day ...tomorrow i go for a coraded doppler of the arteries in my neck and the 29th a mri then see the dr again on the 31st to talk about those results. but he told me to live life like i did before, not take it easy all the time like ive been doing last few days. so good news I will say...i feel like a load off my mind.... thank you to all of you, i really appriciate your caring and praying. |

there is heart disease, diabetes, cancer and back problems in my family. i have arthritus in my spine..... my dr is on his way to getting to the problem, and i have faith he will....2 more tests and we should know...but fornow i sigh with relief and can stop worrying so much like ive been.....and i am :) :) |
Congrats on the good report. Now you can relax and not worry so much. I am really happy you got such good news.:) |
thank you, i am happy about it too :) |
Elaine, So far so good, I have had both the test your doctor has scheduled, the Carotid Doppler and MRI of the brain, thank goodness mine were both fine, and I pray the same for you. They are both very good test, and both noninvasive, so they don't hurt by any means. The MRI can be hard on someone with back problems or claustrophobia, make sure they make you comfortable before they get started and you'll do fine. Good luck, and best wishes!!! Be sure to let us know, how you're doing and how your test turn out. |
