Rosie and the View.... So....there is a big deal over Rosie's contract w/ The View. I have heard she was leaving, I have heard she is still trying to negotiate her contract, etc. Do you think it is really due to her contract or maybe all the trouble she has been involved in or what? I haven't heard who will replace her...wait, I think I heard Rosanne Barr was a top runner. Is there a list of people bidding for the part? And who do you think will be the best fit for the show? I haven't watched it often, but I have seen it a few times....just curious since it has been all over the news programs. |

She had only signed a one year contract. I don't believe they didn't resign her due to the contraversies. (sp) She's agreeded to do some special shows for them in the future. Their rating have never been better the past few months. I think it put her back in a position to get her own gig again and she's going for it. |
I didn't think she "fit" in one the view, but they say the ratings have been the highest ever w/ her on there. So, someone will have big shoes to fill. I just wonder how well her and the others got along? I wonder why she only signed a one year contract? As it already been a year? Wow! |
According to what she and Barbara have said, the only reason she signed on for ayear was because Barbara personally asked her to do it. She only wanted a year because she is very devoted to her family. She only wanted another one year contract and ABC wanted her to sign a minimum 3 year contract. She said she isn't leaving completely, she will do special guest appearances and special segments here and there. I have really liked the dyanmic she brought to the show. I like that she speaks her mind whether she will be popular for it or not. Whether you like her or don't like her, she has some great things she supports with her foundation.... |
Rosie was the only reason i watched the view i only started after she got on there. Not that im a fan of hers i just think she made things interesting. |
I love Rosie! The View is boring without her. She said that she has more money than she could ever spend and didn't want to lock into such a long contract. It isn't a year until Sept. so I don't know why she is leaving in June. I'll miss her. |

I personally love Rosie. Her views on politicial and military issues are a little strong, but for the most part, I agree with stuff she says. She is leaving because they didn't want to pay her what she wanted, and I believe that. As big-mouthed as she is, do you really think she would lie if that wasn't the case? I really hope she goes on to do a similar show, and I am sure that she will be getting lots of offers. Unfortunely for Joy (who I also love) and Elizabeth (who I find uncrediely annoying and close-minded), the View's ratings are gonna drop so quickly once Rosie leaves. |
