Dont pump gas on May 15,2007!!!!!!!!! I got this e mail a few days ago and it really going around a lot and thought i would pass it on to you guys,i know im going to do it!My space is crawling with this and we can only hope that it works? Why not give it a shot it cant hurt. NO GAS...On May 15th 2007 Don't pump gas on may 15th In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight. On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places. There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up. If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and let's try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day. If you agree (which I can't see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, "Don't pump gas on May 15th" |
I feel like this has been discussed before (although maybe it was another forum), but doing this would do no good at all. If you didn't buy that day, wouldn't you buy either the day before or the day after to compensate for that day? :) ETA: http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/nogas.asp |

i already received that email.. but thanks, ,i will not be getting gas that day |
Count me in. I filled up this morning, regular, $3.29gal. $26.79 to full 3/4 of a tank in a Toyota Corolla. Stinks! |
I'll be buying on the 15th Well, i will make sure to BUY gas on the 15th. Why would i want to hurt American workers or businesses? This will not hurt the oil companies but only the workers and small business owners that depend on it. Besides, i like driving and wouldn't give it up no matter what.:car: These boycotts usually don't work out the way you think. Where would this country be without oil and all its products? Try to do without plastic, tires, cars, transportation, heat, a/c, electricity, and on and on and on...all of these are byproducts of oil. THese types of boycotts are usually started by American hating socialists, IMO! Of course, this is America and you are free (thank you military:flag42:) to do whatever you want. Just remember that our freedoms and economy are based on oil in more ways that you can think of. IMO the best way to get the gas prices down would be to get all the GOVERNMENT taxes out of there...that is the major % of the price on a gallon, but the government will never do with less. :2pig: Thanks for letting me vent! GOD BLESS AMERICA! :smileyfla Did i mention that my son is a Marine that just got back from Iraq?:ittykiss: |
No gas for me.........I will ride my bike......I promise!! |

I am so very happy he came home safe. Thank him for keeping our country free and safe . I don't believe we're hurting anyone by keeping that day gas free! If you fill up the day before you can go anywhere you want on a full tank! Just not on the 15th. It's making a statement and I believe we have that right. I know it's not the business owners fault. If it will help the prices, maybe, it's worth a try. |
I agree wth you Carol. |
I think it is time to make a statement! I even work for a gas company here in Texas, and I agree that they need to release a larger supply into the economy so as to lower prices. May 15th will hopefully give them the incentive to do so! |
