Our prayers are with you and your hubby!! We're praying that he starts feeling better very soon. Hang in there! If I were closer, I would have picked up Toto for you. I hope you find someone that can watch her. |
My mom lives in Rio Ranchos.. which is really close to Albequerque, like 10 mins. |
BettyAnne, I am sending hugs and prayers to the three of you..... I sincerely hope that you have found the help you need. Hopefully by now you have found a friend in NM to provide some -in person moral support.... You know you have the YT army praying for you and sending positive vibes your way. |
Sending get well wishes to you and your family. Stay strong, this too shall pass and things will be on the upward swing. |
Your family are in my thoughts and prayers. |
Quick update ..... I will try to update when I get back tonight. We have waited since 10 AM for them to do the heart cath and they just took him down. I ran back to the hotel to grab a cup of coffee and spend a little "quality" time with my sweet, patient little girl. She stayed in the room today and did quite well except being lonely! I just left her with all her comfy things and lots of water and Animal Planet and she did really well .... we have never left her for that long before. I didn't hear any complaints so she evidently didn't bark ... I left the "Do Not Disturb" sign out. Gotta get back over there ... they said 2 hrs. but I don't want him to come back early and me not there. Thank you all soooo much for your prayers ... I love you all and appreciate it so much. |
:hands: and :aimeeyork Hugs for you all tonight. |

Betty Anne, I have an Aunt that lives in Edgewood. It is on the edge of town, right on I40. Do you still need some help. I wish I saw this thread earlier. |
I'll be thinking of you and saying prayers. I hope all is going well. I wish I was there to keep Toto for you! Big hugs and lots of love to you, Patrick and Toto! |
Has anyone heard from Bettyanne today? For me it's been 2 days now without hearing anything..what with our YT meltdown. I'm still praying for her and Patrick. |
I will try to call her tonight and see how all is if we don't hear anything. |
Update, finally .... I am so sorry that I haven't updated this ... YT was down when I finally had a chance. Also, the WiFi here at this hotel isn't reliable! I have Patrick out of the hospital ... the doctors are wonderful ... quick and efficient! The heart cath went well and everything looks almost the same as the one last year with just a little more percentages on ths two arteries. One is 100% blocked and the other is still at 60%+. They are too small for the to put in "stints" so they feel it would be safer to manage them with medication. They did find that another one on the top of his heart is showing signs of problems but feel that under the circumstances it will be OK for me to get him home and over to UAB in Birmingham for further evaluation. One of the cardiologists here trained under one of the doctors at UAB and couldn't say enough good things about UAB. That made me feel better, a little. The medication delivers a little 24 hr. dose of nitro all the time keeping his BP down and therefore reducing the strain on his heart and the pain. His BP is still higher than it should be but he is feeling lots better. My son is flying here to Albequerque on Tuesday. We will pick him up and go back up to Gallup where we left the motorhome. Chris will drive us home from there towing the jeep. [Thank God, I have such a wonderful son and he loves Patrick!!] The doctors have approved this, as long as we stop every 100-200 miles for Patrick to walk around and exercise. This will be so much more comfortable for him ... he can stretch out and rest in the bed or just sit in the passenger seat and enjoy the scenery. If he isn't comfortable doing this, then we will simply go the nearest airport and he can fly the rest of the way. It makes me feel a little better knowng that we have a "Plan B". I believe everything will work out fine. I want to thank everyone for their offers to help and especially for all your prayers!! I love you all and don't know how I would have gotten through this without all of you. The whold ordeal has absolutely been like a "concert" written by God. My wonderful friend, Trish and her daughter, Heather, got on the phone while I was driving down from Gallup, and found me the only room left in this city! They were having the big Indian "Pow Wow" here this past weekend and there we thousands of people here for that and the hotels were packed! Trish and her husband have offered to do everything they could think of to help ... including, coming down to get Toto and keep her, to driving the motorhome to AL for us!! Sweet, sweet, Heather found reservations for my son to fly here that were perfect! I just don't know what I would do without them and all of you! God has just made everything work out ... Patrick even got a call from his cousin in Korea [he and his family are missionaries there] and Mike said that he just had Patrick on his heart Sunday morning!! They had a long visit over the phone and that really made Pat feel better!! They hadn't talked since February!! God does work in mysterious ways! ;) Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart!! |
Oh bettyeanna I am so glad all worked out for you and Patrick. I really wanted to call but I didn't want you to think I was being nosey. I prayed the wole time that all would work out. I am so glad every thing went so well. You take care of him he is a great guy and take care of you too :) (((((((((HUGS))))))), Lori |
I'm so glad you were able to get on and update us - I was ready to start hunting you down !! HUGS to Patrick and he sounds like he's on the road to recovery....Thank God for fast action and good doctors.....This is really good news and you take care of yourself too Bettyeanne ok ??? How's Toto doing ?? |
Bettyeanne...I am so glad to read this. I'm glad that things are working out for you! Prayer is awesome! UAB is a wonderful hospital..I know Patrick will get great care there. I know you will be glad to get back to Alabama. I'm sorry that your relaxing trip in your motorhome across the country didn't turn out as you had planned, but I'm glad that Patrick is out of the hospital and safe with you and Toto! What better nurses could a man want ;) |
My Dad was traveling through Albqueque when he had his stroke ,that hospital and doctors there are wonderful! I'm glad patrick is out and with you now . Keeping you all in my prayers. |
Lori ... Don't ever think you are being nosey!! Actually, I thought about you on my hysterical drive from Gallup and realized that I left my phone numbers back at the motorhome! Thank you so much for your prayers and concern ... I feel like we are at least through the worst of it. Villette ... I know for a fact, there is nowhere to hide from you!! :p I am able to at least think more clearly now and that makes me feel better. Toto?? She is in Yorkie Heaven and has appointed herself "Chief Nurse" and doesn't leave his side! She is so funny ... ever so often she jumps up on his chest and gazes into his eyes and then very gently kisses him right on the lips!! Bonnie's Mom ... Thank you so much for all the prayers. I am certain that's what is helping most. I can hardly wait to get to Alabama and have him seen at UAB. Hopefully, we can make our trip another time. Right now I just want to sleep in my bed!! :p I appreciate you so much! Shadow ... Your Dad couldn't have been in a better place! Heart Hospital is just awesome ... I had never even heard of it before! Everyone here has been so nice but I will just feel so much better when we get home and in familiar surroundings! Thank you so much for your prayers ... I know there have been days that it's all that kept me going! |
