A near tragedy today..... We took a little day trip for a few hours today and the boyz stayed home. When we got back they weren't in their front window that's right at the front door and they weren't at the door barking like usual so that was an immediate red flag. My husband opened the door and Riley came flying out with his tongue hanging out and he was a nervous wreck...Jo didn't answer or come running when I called him...I really got nervous then! Well, we have a long living room/dining room combination and the only way through to the kitchen is a walkway behind the couch but it was blocked and you'll never guess by what. I had...notice I said had...a beautiful picture that my daughter gave me hanging on the wall next to the hutch but for some reason it fell off of the wall and shattered in a million pieces and landed in the walkway behind the couch. Thank God both of my boyz were o.k. and they didn't walk through the glass but they were sure scared...Riley was in the living room and Jo was trapped in the kitchen by all of the glass. We can't figure out why it fell...the metal hangers are still in tact and snug on the back of the frame and the nails are still tight in the wall and nothing else is out of place. I've imagined what could have happened and I'm grateful that it didn't. Gee...I've taken so much time to make my house safe for the boyz but who would have ever thought about the pictures falling off the wall?? |
Oh my, thank goodness no one was hurt. Smart doggies for not walking through the glass! |
I'm so glad everyone is safe!!! Give those babies and extra hug tonight!!! |
Thank you! Hugs have already been given over and over, believe me! It took them both quite a while to calm down and they're sticking pretty close tonight. We think it must have happened right before we came in...I'd hate to think they were trapped and scared like that for very long! |
Awwww, poor babies...........what a fright them must have had when the picture crashed to the floor!!! What a fright for you to come home to see it too!!! Glad all is okay with the kids!!! |

Yes, the boyz are fine...I can't believe they didn't get hurt because that glass went everywhere but I'm glad they didn't! |
Poor guys. Thankfully, they had the good sense not to try running across the shattered glass! |

I asked the boyz who was throwing the ball around the house while we were gone but they didn't answer me! Hugs given! |
So happy that they are both okay. I'm sure everyone's hearts are still racing. |
ohh wow i never thought of that either, i have lots of things hanging on my walls, im so glad they are ok, im not to sure about the franksters he would have probably ran right through it, he has no fear right now becuase hes still a pup but im sure with time he will mello, we were painting the other day in the hallway and we put the doggie gate blocking franie into our room and he was so crazy and ecstatic to get out for some reason that he jumped that huge gate, and i was like whoa he was acting like he was in heat or something liek that wild to get out and first thing he did was run right into my husbands tray of paint and then keep on tracking down the hallway and i was like cathc him cause i didnt want him to lick the paint and he thought he was in trouble with us coming after him so he kept on trucking it around thekitchen and around theliving room and then back to his room down thehallway and i was like you littel stinker, so i had to out him in his little kennel thing after his bath and then go and clean up all the littel foot prints around the house, they are silyl dogs but man do they have a wild personality. and a do it my way personality to i cant even begin to express frankie hes a goof ball hes to much to handle and take in in one day its fun but im glad your pups were ok and im glad they didnt run through the glass and then you know keep on and push it in to far or some thing and you know it just could have been a bad situation. we try to do the best for our pups but we always seem to learn more and more |
That's great nothing happened to them. What a shock to come home to. Maybe it was a poldergeist. |
so glad your two boys are oky! how scary that must have been for you and them |
Awww, poor little babes, Bless their hearts. I'm sorry they were so scared, but it's a good thing they were. I can't imagine what their little paws would have been like if they had run thru the glass. We won't even consider that! I'm glad they are OK. Strange thing - that pic, tho. |
