I'm kidding, btw. I just thought the eagles must be pretty hard to see if the first set of pictures. |
I used to live in WI on the Mississippi River and we had quite a few bald eagles. I just loved watching them soar over. They are very impressive birds!!! |
They are impressive. Thanks for sharing!:) |
That's SOOOOO Awesome! I've been watching the baby bald eagles in the nest that Mustangbee linked us too and to see one in person must have been incredible ! GREAT pictures and what a nice day you had.... |
Very nice pictures. Oh how I miss canoeing, used to go on the Pine River in Baldwin Mi. Never saw a bald eagle up north, that's great you did. |

http://chil.vcoe.org/eagle_cam.htm Lucky you!!! I love to watch eagles!!! Check out this nest!;) ;) ;) |
WOW! Those pix are GREAT! My hubby and I just happen to be staying in Lake City Minnesota - right on the Mississippi river. We've been here 5 days and we have seen 15 eagles - I'm not kidding!! Neither my hubby nor I had ever seen one in the wild - it has been soooo WONDERFUL! We saw two nests too - it is just incredible. There is a National Eagle Center in Wabasha MN and they have 3 eagles on site - ones that have been injured and cannot fly so they keep them there where the public can view them. They also do teaching programs with them. Anyway, we went to the center learned so much about eagles. That nest you see in the picture is probably about five feet tall, 8-9 feet across, and weighs about 700 pounds. In general, eagles return to the same nest each year and they add to it - so a new nest will be smaller, but "grows" each year. They are incredible birds - we feel so fortunate to be here for a few days and able to see them in the wild! Thanks for sharing your pictures!!! |
Wonderful pictures - thanks for sharing them!!! We love to canoe and that place looks beautiful! We normally canoe on the Buffalo River & Mulberry in Arkansas, Elk River in Missouri or Illinois River in Oklahoma! Awhile back, we seen two Bald Eagles around our house too! I didn't have the camera handy either times....so upsetting!!! They are a beautiful sight to see....that is for sure!!!! |
WE had some out back where we live too. an dthe town set up cameras to view because they had their nest at the park close by us, its so neat to watch. |
