Picking up my Daughter from school today was a pain! Then I have to wait till the news comes on to hear this!!!!! The Kids thought there was a fire at the nursing home. But I find out A bomb Was found!! I live not 3 blocks from this OMG How can anyone! God I am to upset to type Crying to hard.
Oh and the kids were being relaesed from school while the search was going on!!!! they should have put them in lock down mode!

What??!! That is crazy?! They didn't notify the parents or anything....especially those that live in the area of the school??
I know when I worked at our local school, we always had drills for everything...bomb scares, tornadoes, etc.....course, parents were sent notice so the kids wouldn't come home w/ some sort of story (you know how kids can be).
Anyway......in the case of a bomb...what do they do? Did the kids all go outside...away from the building??? They shouldn't stay inside of a bomb was found! Was it an actual (real) bomb?
Omg....that is crazy.....I would have been very stressed!!!

:mad: Yes it was a REAL pipe Bomb!:mad: They found it! by the Water tower just down the hill from the school in a Park a lot kids walk home though! they didn't let the kids go that way but let them out, When they still did not know where the bomb was!! I am so P O right now.:mad:

thats crazy
they should have put the kids on lock down, i know like if around here if there was a shooting or somehting relatively close than they would shut our schools down and call the parents one by one and only call the parents to come getthem if the road was safe or accessable

OMG Lori, I hadn't heard that any of this was going on. I would be upset too.

Oh My Goodness! Thankfully, it wasn't "in" the school.......BUT still...near the school w/ kids everywhere.....I still would have thought that it would have been all over the news, right when it was found....to let the residents in the area know.....course, I know the schools, they problem didn't want to cause a rush of panic by trying to get ahold of parents or anything...course, they probably couldn't get ahold of all the parents before school let out....that is scary!!!! Lock down would have been the best thing!! Sorry you and your daughter had to go through that! I am so glad that it wasn't worse then it could have been!!!

OMG. thats awful. As im from N.Ireland I remember being a child and do you know when the troubles were going on the safest place to be was school.
No 1 one no matter what side they were from would ever threaten a childs life.
What you went through is unforgivable, they should never have let the kids leave school, especally when they didn even know were it was at. Shameful

Like I said above the Girls thought It was a fire at the nursing home! That is scarey enough. Then to have to find out on the news. I am gonna call the news and tell them. and then Have it out with the School!

This type of insanity is world wide, and a lot of young people feel they wont have a future, and the weak ones are doing unspeakable acts such as killing people. I am really afraid of what the world is comming to.

As ive said if been through it. Im now 34 and even im shocked what this world is turning into. To many people wanting to rule the world, they need to get of there high horses and take a look at what we the ordinary people see.

An Other Crazy Incident
 
I cant believe what a crazy day this is. I am a school teacher In Yuba City, CA and the whole district was on lock down today. A guy made a threat to make what happened Virginia Tech look mild.
Its really scary for the kids and parents. I am sorry you guys had to go through a similar scary ordeal.

I just heard a big BOOM in the distance! god I am getting scared. Maybe they just blew the bomb up but it sounded scarey!!!

I can't believe this happened so close to your home and am so sorry...but so glad they found it. Man - what is our world coming to...we fight for peace and we have bombers living right under our noses....:( :( How did they find it ???

The news showed the police and fire workers combing the park.


Authorities said a Plattsmouth city employee moved the bomb to a maintenance shed and now experts are trying to figure out what to do with the device.

I can\'t believe they moved it??? The city workers?? ones that mow the grass!!
