OH MY GOSH!! :eek: We had hail like that back in 1994 in Austin and it totalled 2 of our cars, mine and my daughters. We DID NOT intend on having to buy two cars at the same time - it was NOT fun. Both were older and paid off, so there we were with two new car payments. It was bad news!

I'm so sorry!!! And I'm even more sorry to say that your roof is probably trashed too - but the insurance should cover all of that.

:( Sorry to hear about your cars! Be sure to check your roof!! We had golf ball size hail last year - they had to replace the roof and one side of the house had to be sided - looked like someone stood in the neighbors yard with a Big Bertha and a bucket of balls and used the house for target practice!

These storms are soooo scary!! Glad you're okay!!

A tornado hit about a mile away from my house, I didnt even realize how close they were. The tornado warning sirens went off but they always go off in a serious storm so they sort of loose thier meaning. It scares me becasue my husband doesnt take them seriously at all and of course once the storm hits it knocked out cable out so we could no longer watch the news for updates.

My parents live about 20 minutes away and that hail went right through their patio cover tearing it in a bunch of places.
I havent even been able to check the roof of my house or outside damage other than the cars, its too dark now. I feel so bad for the people that were effected by the tornado. I dont know how much damage was done yet, I do know a church was completely torn up the news said.

Thank the Good Lord that you were spared physical injury. I know it is the pits to watch hail bounce off the cars -- been there done that, but the good news is YOU ARE SAFE!

So was Hailey scared to death or what? I cant imagine being in the car, Im so glad ya'll got home quickly. The sound the hail made against my house was the loudest noice I have ever heard, I would be terrified being in a car with that happening!

HOLY COw! The hail totaled your car? Geez that is horrible. Im only sad about the cars because my 2 cars are only 1-2 years old, we still owe a lot on them and my car payments combined are higher than my house payment so it just sucks to pay all that money for cars as dinged up as they are. BUt as far as I know they still run it only looks like body damage so thats all that really matters so we are lucky and Im thankful for that. :)

Haley just thought it was raining really hard. It scared me though!!! All I kept thinking was what if a piece came thru the window. Luckly the hail at my house only got to be about silver dollar size. I hope your house did not get any damaged. I guess you hubby will be up on a latter tomorrow checking out the roof.

Oh my gosh! That is the biggest hail I have ever seen!!! I'm glad you were okay!

Glad you made it through okay. We had a big hail storm last April. It broke every window on the back of house. I had to have a new roof and the entire back side of the house rebuilt. Hope your house faired better.

Wow i dont think i have ever seen hail that big in my life,glad you are ok and hope everyone else is too. sorry to hear about your cars:(

We had a lot of hail during a storm earlier in the week. I friend of mines step son just came to live with them from NY. When he saw all of the hail, he jumped up and down and started yelling "yeah, no school tomorrow" all of the other kids just looked at him and said its not like snow, it will be gone in a little while.

Oh, my goodness Shana! I can\'t beleive the size of that hail!

My daughter is going to college in Richardson and she called me last night to say she was being admitted to the hospital for kidney stones. She was at a hospital in Carrollton. She said, "Oh, and by the way we are under a tornado warning with golf ball sized hail expected. They think it is going to hit the hospital. The power has already gone out and we are on back up generators. No one is allowed to leave the hospital and we have to stay away from the windows."

It kind of freaked me out. But seeing those pictures of the hail, oh my goodness! I will have to call her this morning and see what happened. Of course, she wouldn\'t be able to see what happened as my daughter is blind.
