Macbook vs. Windows Vista? I am looking for a new laptop with a smaller screen. I currently have windows xp but I am debating on whether to go with the new windows vista or a macbook? I heard vista was having problems with storage capacity.. any input? |
I would wait awhile to jump on vista...most likely any hardware you may have like printers, scanners, etc...will not be compatible... I have been debating on investing in a macbook also but will probably hold back until it is vista compatible... vista is amazing... |
i know... one of the reasons I like Vista so much is the fact that it has so many perks... it formats your papers in various writing styles and sets up your ann. bibl. and other things.... I was debating buying the program for my current laptop but I really want a smaller screen , easier to carry and I don't want to override my windows xp... ahhhh..... but the macbook sounds tempting too..lol |
i know what exactly you mean...kekek... |
I love macs! My brother just bought a new mac laptop, I'm so jealous! Because I'm still in college and they use pc, it was more appropriate for me to use window xp... I can't wait to get a mac again!! Plus I've heard they were having lots of problems with the windows vista? I dunno, personally I've had macs my whole life even in hs and I think they do more than pc's... Plus so much easier to get around on!!! I guess personal preference though. |
1 good thing about the new mac is that you can have both Windows and Mac loaded on it...for a software developer as myself...I find that very good...so once the mac is compatible with vista i will make the jump...keke |
I am a mac-aholic.;) There are some things I can't do without: My New Beetle My Mac PowerBook My iPod |

i believe that was the main reason why the new mac was such a big hit...then now vista came out which isn't supported yet by macs...so crossing fingers that will.... |
the macbooks are already compatible with vista. they are also coming out with a new operating system sometime soon called leopard, which is way more advanced than vista. i would definately recommend a macbook. the new operating system will be here no later than june. http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/ http://www.macrumors.com/2007/03/28/...boot-camp-1-2/ |
thats great to hear..but being that the OS are still fairly new i am going to wait until all or at least most bugs has been resolved or fix...kekek |
http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ this is the boot camp website that shows that it is now compatible with vista |
My programmer husband just made me buy a Macbook because I kept complaining about my laptop being slow and crashing and he was sick of hearing about it. I've had it just this week and I'm already comfortable with the switch. He put something called Parallels on here so that I can run Windows on top of Mac OS X (it's different than boot camp). That way I can still use Quickbooks because it's a version for Windows. iPhoto is super easy to use - you just plug in your camera and it figures it out. The other programs are really easy too. The hardest part is getting used to the operating system differences. It's not harder to navigate, it's actually easier, it's just a major change. Also, I cringed about the price but my husband explained that they use really good parts and don't cut corners and that's why they cost a little more. The screens, hard drives, etc. are all top of the line. And you really, truly can't beat the magnetic power cord. Loki has pulled it out twice now since I've had it and it just pops off, rather than pulling your whole laptop with it!! |
I have an iBook that is a couple of years old. I always wanted one, and I found a cheap one to use for school on ebay. It was hard to adjust, but I will never do Windows again. I LOVE it! |
Been a Mac user since home computers came to be.... wouldn't use anything else - I won't be using windows or vista.....I just wanted to say that I LUV Macs! :) |
