My mom said "excuse me?!" to see if she had misheard her, but she said it again, she said that "you have to care about things other than SHOPPING to get into law school."and that my cousin was a college girl and all i was meant to do was be a trophy wife! I DONT EVEN KNOW THIS LADY! anyways the bashing went on and she called me a stupid cheerleader before my mom finally dragged her out of the room and starting yelling at her. i just felt so attacked, so i starting crying and took a cab home. my family called this morning to tell me that she has always been bitter like that to pretty girls because she had a bad highschool experience and that i should forgive her. I go to high school, im used to people saying those things about me.. but i wasn't prepared for it to come from my family
I really am smart! im an A student, y is it because im a cheerleader and that i like to dress up that people automatically think im stupid? im just really shook up by this.. i didnt expect my easter to turn out to be soo bad :(
i just needed to vent. | Shake it off, Sweetie. Family can be the worst -- this is why once I turned 21, it's my policy to drink through all family get togethers. And, no, I rarely even drink a beer otherwise. Now when stuff like this happens (which my family is pure drama), I just sit back with my gin and tonic and laugh . . .
Also, this woman hardly knows you, and sounds as if she's dealing with some repressed jealousy issues.
;)
Hang in there! |
