My Opinion is that 11-14 is way to young to be allowed to date. Especially in todays world with all the evil things going on in the world,no need to rush it. I think 16 is a good age and of courseit also depends on the maturity of the teen.

11 to 13 is too young to be dating. Way too young. I would never allow one of my children to date until at least 16, and even then, only something like a chaperoned group thing.

I think dating before the age of 16 is unsafe and not advisable. I think dates can start at 16 if done in a group setting. Don't rush it :)

I think to go to school sponsored dances as a group is ok at 14. My dtr is 21 and she started dating at 15 and only to a movie or mall and I drove her and picked her up and always met the date.

same thing wit my sister but she was sneaking and dating until she was 16 then she was allow to date and didn't have to lie but yup I jsut can't wait you know how it is when you were a teenager but what if u have gone too far wit the guy what next??????????????????

So many things could happen. STDs, pregnancy. If you are between eleven and fourteen the guy could even go to jail. You life could be changed far more than you realize. Let's say you are eleven and end up pregnant. A mother of a five year old at sixteen!! If you are fourteen, you could be the mother of a five year old at nineteen. A very hard road to travel. Frightening. Lonely.

On the other hand, some STDs can leave you sterile and you may never experience motherhood. The reprecussions are numerous. I hope you have not and if you have that you don't again. For your sake.

My best recommendation is that you should talk to your mom or someone you trust that is there - someone that is responsible fpr you. Sounds like a lot is going on. I am sure if you sit them down and explain they will understand and know you better and about the situation and give you great advice.
Also 11 - 14 is way too young to date, let alone going too far. Sounds like the guy only wanted one thing and probably doesn't respect you. So dump him and just enjoy being a kid. Believe me - you have a whole life time to be a grown up and it is more fun just being a kid. Groups with friends are cool, but single date and running off only leads to Big Trouble! Once you have a kid - you have to do everything for them - not much time you "you" anymore.

wow, I think it's way too young. Kids are not kids as long as they were when I was growing up but I'm from Europe, they USED to be a little slower with dating and all... But still, 11 is too early. At 15, I'd let my kid go have ice-cream or see a movie with another kid (date). But be dropped off and picked up and all.

I grew up very early..

I started dating when I was 13, My parents were very lenient with me. I never snuck out or anything like that to date, they let me do as I pleased.

I'm now married with the man I started dating when I was 14.. we have 1 baby girl together and we are both LVN's..

I think it really depends on how your raised. My parents thought as long as i'm honest and careful with my choices they support me.

My cousins both were not allowed to date till they were 18 :eek: , needless to say both of them ran away at the age of 16 and decided to get pregnant, one of them now has 2 kids, different fathers, but the children are both healthy. the other one also has 2 kids different fathers, but is marrying the father of her 2nd child. they have even said it themselves, they are rebels and all they wanted to do was rebel against their parents' rules. if they were allowed to date, they said things probaby would have been different.

Im not condoning you to date if your 11-13 years of age. My parents just got lucky with me that i've got a good head on my shoulders and I picked the right man :p

I say best advice is to talk to your parents about it, parents know best right? :D

way too young...I think you should take it slowly. Try and enjoy your youth first.
