horrible act turned into blessing for us 4 Attachment(s) A couple years ago my brother found a beautiful gray cat on his college campus and took it in. He took it to the vet where they were able to determine the cat had been abused and neglected. He kept it at his apartment until he moved with other people where pets were not permitted. So he had to find a place for his beloved pet. Unfortunately no friends were able to help out so it was either a shelter or my family's house. After much debate, we took him in. He is now a HUGE part of the family. My dad is even attached to him which says a lot :p He was 6 months when my brother found (believed to be six months and is now HUGE  ) It gets better...on September 12, 2006, my brother found an approximately six week old kitten in a trash can of a parking lot on our college campus. He skipped class and called my mom crying that he found a cat, whose eyes were sealed shut (an infection), fur matted up and making sounds he never EVER heard a cat make. My mom told him to bring it home. While he was en route she called the vet and they told her to bring her right in. It took them almost two hours to clean this beautiful kitten off...and a lot of that time was spent cleaning her eyes. She was found to be an otherwise healthy cat...just really young...6 weeks old and 1.5 pounds. Everyone was hoping that her being away from the mama was not going to be a problem. Now...she is almost 6 pounds  and just a joy. She brings our yorkies joy. They weren't sure what to think at first going from just them to two other cats...and we were nervous. But now...they are great. Tyke just leaves them alone but they really give Bubba a workout (especially the kitten). How can ANYBODY hurt a helpless little animal? Really people, if you can't keep it or take care of it...then find someone who WILL. I look into the eyes of all my animals and I just cannot see how anyone can do anything to a helpless beautiful animal  :thumbdown Here are photos! Kitty is the cat found on another campus and is the big gray one, Nala is the cat that was found in a trash can...I also have one the day after we found her...and one that is current. Absolutely amazing :D These cats, like our dogs, are now a huge HUGE part of our family. I see Nala laying all sprawled out on Tyke's bed and I keep thinking how lucky she was that she was found. I see her playing with the dogs or jumping around and can't help but feel proud :) |
They are just so cute. I can't understand how people can do this to animals either. It's not like they can fin for themselves. If worse came to worse the least they can do is bring them to a shelter. |

Whoops! I guess I really meant it. LOL |
That is a beautiful story. They are so very lucky to be found by your brother and you are just wonderful for giving them a home. I have no idea how people close their eyes at night when they abuse or discard an animal. Your pictures are heartwarming. |
You certainly have a very special family!! Bless all of you for helping these babies and giving them such a wonderful loving home! Bless you all. |
