Cost of Frontline and Heartguard Hello fellow Yorkie lovers. I bought Frontline Plus from my Vet at the cost of $42.00 for 3 months. Heart Guard for 6 months $25.00. Is this the going price or is there some place on line to get it cheaper. $42.00 for front line is a terrible price to pay? Ginny:rolleyes: |
I just hung up from my vet who quoted me $49.00 for Frontline Plus. ePetsboutique.com wants $32, but it's only for 3 months worth. If I remember correctly, my vet's was a 6 month supply. I'm going to keep looking online. If you find anyplace, please let me know. It's flea season. Thanks, Judy |
I, have in the past, purchased Frontline for 3 months for $35.99 from the private pet store I shop from. My vet tacks on $5.00 to that if I buy from him. To make a long story short I hate frontline anyhow. I found several ticks on Buddy last summer and Frontline stated to me that several kinds of ticks are not covered:eek: I heard bad things about Sentinel and Advantage (S) so what do you do? I bought Hartz! I used it on Buddy three times at the end of the summer, Sept, Oct and Nov and stopped for the winter months. I started up yesterday with Hartz again. So far I have had no problems and it seems to be mostly Avon Skin So Soft. He smells so nice. I am not afraid to use Hartz at all. My past dogs lived to be 17 and 16 wearing the Hartz collar daily with no sickness or problems of any kind, and no fleas or ticks ever. Listen, whatever you choose to do you are putting Pestisides into the body of your pet. We have no choice unless you go holistic and my neighbor had flea infestation last summer because of that. What else is left? |
Here is where I'm going to shop when I run out. I know people who use it and had no problems http://stores.ebay.com/Aussie-Pet-Direct |

Frontline is all pesticide as well as the others that some dogs have already died from! I wish he did not have to go outside. I will stop the Hartz for sure. I have no idea what the heck to use anymore. Who or what can you trust? Dog food, toys, flea products etc. All bad news lately! Scary for sure. Thanks again.. |
I like this place. |
I read the article about Hartz flea and tick products, how sad I will tell people not to use it. Has anyone else used Avon skin so soft and how is it used? The frontline plus is for 3 months at 42.00, I have just called a few more vets and their cost was a bit more than my vet's office. The Heart Guard was also close in price. My daughter ordered front line plus for 25.00 + 4.00 shipping for 6 months, that's pretty cheap, but I just wonder what she will get. Ginny & Dixie:animal36 |
i just purchased k9 advantix which i have used for 4 yrs and never had a prob. it is for 4 months protection. i used frontline once and my house was full of fleas. but some people like my parents have good experience w frontline |
I searched all over online and found some good prices. My vet actually matched them which is nice. Give it a try - they're better off giving you a discounted price than to lose your business. |
Ginny Merry, DO NOT use Hartz. Just google it, and you will find entire sites devoted to horror stories involving their flea/tick products. I even had an experience with my cat, but luckily, it was detected before it was fatal. Edit: Sorry, I didn't read the entire thread, just to the response where someone mentioned using Hartz. I didn't see where you had responded and said you wouldn't use it. |
i just ordered frontline plus for 35.00 free shiipping over 49.00. of course i had to shop more for free shipping,,, |
oooops sorry i got it at dog.com for 3 months supply |
That is a lot less for frontline than my regular Vet charges! I go to our Military vet just for frontline and heartguard and take them to a civilian vet for shots and checkups. The Military Vet sells it for very cheap. |
