Yikes!!! We just returned from the dentist - My husband needs 2 bridges and about 6 tooth bondings total 4,700 with insurance    Does anyone anything about tooth bonding because of tooth enamel loss??? Is this necessary he doesn't have any sensitivity or pain? What happens if we don't bond? Sorry so many questions - appreciate any help thanks oh, the bridges are about 2,000 each and the rest is for tooth bonding and deep cleaning |
I work in dental insurance and work with people that have been chairside so I will ask tomorrow and let ya know. |
If you are unsure, you might want to get a second opinion. Of course, the bridges are probably necessary, if he has missing teeth - but, I do remember an investigative report a couple of years ago. People went to dentists with known teeth problem or were known to NOT have any problems and about 50% (or so, can't remember exact percentage) of the dentists they went to recommended unnecessary treatment. Now, I am not saying that 50% of dentists are unethical. Some recommend treatment to prevent future problems that may or may not occur. But if I were unsure about spending that kind of money, I sure would get a second opinion. Also, I would ask if there were some lesser expensive repairs that could be done. Good luck! |
Ok - thank you I really appreciate it!!! Yeah I'm thinking about gettin 2nd opinion - bridges are probably necessary but not sure about tooth bonds |
I'd definitely get a second opinion:eek: That seems excessive considering you have insurance, and even WITHOUT insurance it sounds way too high! GOod luck |
my mom just went to the dentist because of her tooth, It was hurting her really bad and she already had a crown on it because out military dentist like several several years ago in kansas was suppose to have done a root canal. but when she went a month ago to see what was wrong with it they said she needed a root canal that it was never done. so she payed for the first one and now this one. and they arent cheap. im sure the military one was cheaper. |

Bonding could be more for cosmetic purposes if there isnt any sensitivity or pain. As far as the bridge cost - I think I saw you were in CA and in CA, NY things are always so much higher. Deep cleanings are good to get done -- a bit more expensive than a regular cleaning. I hope that helps. |
