I am SUCH a procrastinator! It is about 11 PM and I have a paper due tommorrow and I haven't even started it! It's only supposed to be 3 pgs so that's good but I always start papers SO late. Some how though I always get them done on time, ever since high school I would cram all night writing them and still get good grades. But it's so bad to stay up all night. I'm on YT and I am SUCH a procrastinator! lol |

I have a pass or fail dosage calculation exam. You get 2 tries.........must get 100% or you're out    Guess when I started looking at the book?.............today! It's mostly due to time management. I have so much to study and read that am sick of it. I am ALWAYS working on a paper or something at the computer. Of course, YT is always open and I take breaks to unwind here. Hence, what I am doing now. I don't take summers off and I need a vacation right about now.............lol |
Help me please! Quote:
well incase anyone else knows I am supposed to discuss why prokaryotes tend to be small relative to eukaryotic cells. Any help would be great! I have read the chapter but I am still lost! |

That was my favorite science course. I absolutely loved looking at all the microbes in the lab. Here is a brief tutorial http://www.biology.arizona.edu/cell_...pev/page2.html |
Am I the only person in online classes that does their papers early? Wow, I am such a nerd  LOL I tutor other students in my classes online as a side job so I normally have to be done with my work early so I can critique their papers and help them with their work. I feel ya Jess on the vacation. I started college 3 weeks after I graduated high school at the age of 16 and I have been attending classes with 16+ credits and haven't stopped going to school since. I even take summer semesters and work through spring break...how lame is that  |

Prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells are more alike than they are different. Their differences though being small are significant. All cells have certain things in common...they reproduce, they require a supply of energy, the regulate the flow of nutrients and waste that enter and exit the cell. they have a cell membrane that separates the chaos outside a cell from the high degree of organization within the cell. They all contain DNA, several varieties of RNA and proteins. They are all compased in the same way as well by the use of carbohydrattes, proteins, nucleic acids, fats, vitamins and mineral and all of that have intensive sensing systmes; in relation to the human body, the cells sensing systems we would liken to our "nose". So the main similarities between Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells would be that they both have DNA as their genetic makeup. They are both Membrane bound, they have a similar basic metabolism and they both have ribosomes. All of those things listed above are found in both Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cells. It is believed that Prokaryotic cells evolved first and that Eukaryotic cells evovled from them. Prokaryotic cells are less complex on many levels, Eukaryotic cells are structurally and biochemically more complex. They carry a higher degree of orginaztion than the Prokaryotic cells and they contain many organelles and a nucleus while Prokaryotic cells have no organalles and do not have a nucleus, this is their biggest and most significant difference. Eukaryotic cells are also larger than Prokaryotic cells because they are more complex. I hope this helps you out a little and hope it wasn't confusing! It's been a long day  |
