Its official.. Europe here we come!
 
I am taking my mom, mother in law and daughter on the special Disney Transatlantic Cruise 14-Days for Mother's Day. We will sail May 12 and have the time of our lives in CAstaway Cay (Disney's private Caribbean island), Tenerife, Canary Islands, Cadiz and Barcelona in Spain. After we are flying to Switzerland for 2 days and then back to Miami. If anyone has ever been to any of these ports please let me know what you recommend as must-sees. We are just looking forward to a nice relaxing time....:)

Of course I am already so stressed about leaving Ninna and Tiffany behind for such an extended amount of time... :(

Being a Disney fan, I was thinking about eventually taking a Disney cruise.. I'm assuming that that is what you are doing?

Yes its the Disney Cruise. Its the Disney Wonder. What they are doing is that besides the regular Caribbean vacations they are also doing yearly "special" cruises. This year they have a Panama Canal trip as well as this European one. I have always wanted to take my daughter to this when she was old enough and this just fell on my lap because it also lands on mother's day and what a better present to give to my 2 mothers as well :)

Its going Faaaaarrr awway!! that is the best part, no cell conctact no boss calling me to ^%E&$&... so I am definetely looking forward to that.. Also, my 5 year old is going to have the time of her life with all the cute Disney events that they schedule on the ship. And then of course my mom and my mother-in-law are going to enjoy their time at the spa and in the hammocks sipping Pina Coladas..

I am going to be missing all of you on YT for sure... and not to even mention that I am still up in the air about what I am going to do with my girls.. :(

You are so lucky. I've never had the courage to go on a cruise, but have lived in Spain and want to go back there to live out the rest of my life!! Take lots of pictures to share with us.

Oh Maria, that is soooo awesome. I have never gone on a cruise but I have been to Europe twice and just love it. Just keep an open mind that it is not the US so no ice water, small showers, toilets are a bit weird, etc, etc. . . but there is so much history and you will definitely enjoy it. I Have been to Switzerland and you will enjoy the scenery . . . and very, very clean. Avoid going on a sunday though because everything is CLOSED :eek: Which part of Switzerland?

I can babysit Ninna and Tiff if you want to send them to the northwest :)

Which canary island are you going to? I have been to Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria and Barcelona is great. The Sagrada Familia church by Gaudi is amazing and also Las Ramblas which is a street that everyone walks down which has lots of different part like, one piece is all cafe's ,1 all newstands,1 flower stall's and 1 performing artist's but just watch out for the part that has the pet stores avoid that!

I was only on a cruise one time about 6 years ago. It was only for 4 days and it stayed in the Caribbean. The good thing is that it was while I was pregnant so as you can imagine it was great because of all the food around :p Really?? Where in Spain did you live?? My best friend's parents are both from Galicia, they go every summer and bring back the most amazing pictures and stories of the beautiful country. Also both my ex-husband's grandparents are coincidentially from Cadiz so my mother-in-law (x) is going to love visiting the place where her parents were born and raised and my daughter can see where that 1/2 of her roots come from. We are very very exited about it :)

Thanks, this is my first time going to Europe and although I had no plans now I am really exited and cannot wait! :) Good thing is that we will be in the ship for the first 13 days and have to get a hotel for one nite only in Barcelona and then one nite in Zurich. That's funny we are going there Sunday afternoon and then coming back to US the next day.. perhaps I should plan to stay there at least one more day ugh?

I would love to have you babysit my girls, you have no idea how I am dreading to leave them in a kennel for 16 days :( I feel as though they are going to hate it and miss me so much..:(

That's the one we are going to! Tenerife. Please please tell me what are the "must sees" there? Is it as nice as they say? The Sagrada Familia is the top of my list for sure, that place looks astronomical... it's going to be a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime-experience. It looks so beautiful!! Ok I have added Las Ramblas to my places to research and map out for the trip. Thank you!!!! :thumbup:

Well, if you can change your plans to stay one more day, do so as Zurich will be DEAD. I went there and just walked the cobbled streets . . there is a nearby waterfront but that is about it. Can't remember if the restaurants are also closed . . . it might be so just check the hotel and find out.

My hubby and I love to travel but now that I have my furbabies, I have to think twice :p
