Summer vacation plans?? I have been trying to get the family together on where to go for our summer vacation for weeks, well tonight we decided after me all day researching. We couldn't afford Hawaii this year(maybe next). My youngest son doesn't like the beach and my oldest loves the beach, so we are going to Pigeon Forge,TN and renting a cabin for 3 nights then going to Virginia Beach for 3 nights staying at a Sheraton. I made the reservations tonight. Yes all 3 dogs are going with us, I made sure everything is pet friendly, the Sheraton even supplies dog beds and does not charge for your pets and you can have as many as you want under 30 lbs. We plan to do lots of relaxing, swimming, eating and SHOPPING(outlets galore)!! We will go through Williamsburg,VA and they have a Dooney outlet(Ive been there, love it) which I have to go to. Anyone know of anything we HAVE to see in these areas? We haven't been to Pigeon Forge as a family so this will be new to us, we went to VA.Beach a couple of years ago on spring break. We are so excited, I need some relaxation so bad. |
You won't be in VA Beach for three days, so I'm not sure if you'll want to lose a whole day, but I really like the aquarium in VA Beach. I think it's called something like the VA Beach Marine Science Museum. |
We seen it the last time we went, and my boys aren't interested in it again. Thanks, anyone else? |
I love Pigeon Forge, TN! Sounds like a fun fun vacation! |
We like to go kayaking in the bay in Sandbridge (just below VB). |
I live in Williamsburg Va Prime Outlets 5715 Richmond Rd. also Williamsburg Outlet 6401 Richmond Rd. All the Resturants are also on Richmond Rd. Have Fun!! |

Does anyone know of any dog boutiques or bakerys in these areas? I found a few through a google search. I went to Mrs. Bones in Va. Beach last time I was there. I always have to search out the doggy places. |

Watercountry is in Williamsburg! It is so much fun.Maybe look into the Bounce pass. That lets you do Busch Gardens and Watercountry.Spend the day at Watercountry in the day and Busch Gardens at night. So you won't have to stand in the long lines I would buy them online Busch Gardens.com The historical Triangle is Jamestown.Colonial Williamsburg,Yorktown.Theres a bus service if you get a Pass theres many different levels depends on what type pass you get. That way you enjoy your visit and spend less time getting lost.In April the 400th anniversary starts so there will be many things going on and very busy. |
We are also going to Virginia for vacation. We are going in July. My husbands youngest brother lives there. Last time for both boys to go with us on vacation as the youngest one is going to join the air force late Summer. I already have the outlet malls written down. |
I kids loved Pigeon Forge,TN. Lots of things to do there for the kids. |
I've never been out that way, but I'm sure you guys will have fun no matter what! It sounds like so much fun!! I'm planning a short trip to Boston this summer w/the furbabies so they can see my old stomping ground :) and we *might* be doing somewhere tropical later on in the summer. I'm really hoping we get to take a longer 5 day vacation because I could really use it :) |
We're hoping to get to Maine this year. If we don' t make it during the summer we might rent a cabin at Christmas time to spend some time in the snow. Never see snow down here in Florida. |
