Manicures anyone? I was just sitting here doing my nails while on YT like I do every Sunday evening and I got to wondering what all my YT girlfriends do. ;) Do you regularly give yourself manicures (buff, polish, the works), go 'au naturel', or go to a salon regularly? I've only had my nails done professionally for special occasion, but the salon girls always seem impressed with my do-it-yourself job and I get compliments from strangers so I guess I'm doing okay! And...I'm always on the hunt for a new fab color. Can't pass by an OPI stand in a mall without stopping for a peek. Please post your favorite color/maker if you have one! I love love love a hot pink OPI color called "Don't Know Beets Me". I can't wait for summer so I can wear that again. :) Right now I'm putting on a brick red with gold flint by OPI called "That's an El of a Color". Dollars to donuts if I had a girlie dog I'd be doing her nails too. But no, I won't do that to poor Tetley. LOL |
I am a mani/pedi kinda gal. I go once sometimes twice a month. The place I go is 30 bucks for a mani/pedi and massage. I get the french manicure for spring and summer but only on my toes. My nails are always clear unless its something special then I will get the manicure on my nails. I type all day at work so it chips easily. During the winter I have Red toes -- its OPI but cant remember the name! I looooove my mani/pedis! Its the most relaxing hour and half to two hours of my life! |
I wish I could do my own nails, but I'm a slave to the manicurist. Every 2 weeks I have to go get them done. I have them wrapped because they're like paper naturally. I always get pale pink or another pastel because chips don't show. Pedicures are fun there. They're very relaxing. Judy |

I try to keep up with my nails. I do my own french manicures. I learned years ago when I didn't have the money to pay for them. I would love to get a pedicure, but I'm afraid of getting some kind of food fungus or what ever they talk about on tv. Also my feet are VERY tickleish (sp?) so I don't know if I could handle it. My boss has a girl come in every Friday and we get chair massages. That's wonderful.....Actually she gets her adverising free in exchange for her services. Great trade.... |
I have never had a professional manicure. I always have plain nails, no color, sometimes clear. My nails grow fast and can look good but with my job I have to keep them kind of shorter. I think I might get some nails this summer since I only work 2 days a month. |
I just love spa pedicures...& parafin wraps for my hands and feet. |
Oh my, all this talk about pedicures makes me want to go and get one now! I take fantastic care of my hands but my feet leave something to be desired... . I just haven't found a pedicurist I love yet so I'm still bouncing around. |
I get pedicures all the time, used to get my nails done but being a groomer they would always chip or break. I also had a hard time doing topknots with those fake nails on. So.... I just stick with my pedicures every 2 weeks. I also get my eyebrows done when I get my pedicures done. Actually Im due to go tomorrow to get them done |

Oh goodness, I go every 2 weeks to get mine done....... most of the time i get a french manicure, but when summer time comes around i like to choose bright colors so that my nails and toes will match! Im a slave to it, I can't help it, I feel like that is my time to be pampered! |
I love my mani's and pedi's but I'm horrible at doing them myself. Last year I was really good about going in and getting them done but I haven't been that good this year. But, next week I'm going with some girlfriends to a spa and we are going to get pedi's. |
I'm living in my small hometown now, so the salon's here are not all that awesome.. so I've been doing my mani's myself since it's the same level as the salon. But, when I lived in Boston, I got manicures from the most kick butt manicurist/pedicurist EVER! She was super awesome.. my toe polish could last over a month w/o a single chip. I miss her, LOL. I mostly do sheer polishes, but I also love black or deep wine colors if I'm going out :) |
Only since becoming pregnant do I do more to my nails than use the clippers on them. Now? Yeah, I clip only the excess off, file and then buff the tops (so there aren't any ridges or lines) and then use a polishing tool so they're shiny and all natural. ;) I don't do nail polish...any dog handlers out there know that it simply doesn't hold up! lol I also do pedicures now and simply won't give that up at all costs at this point! OMG, it's helped w/ my circulation since the pregnancy...good times. (it took me a LONG time to get used to someone using utensils next to such delicate skin and that sawing motion w/ the file....like nails on a chalk board!) |
I've never had a manicure or pedicure. And please ladies don't get mad at me for saying this, but that's just not important to me. :o I do think manicured nails look great though. What is important is my toe nails having color on them for the spring and summer. I usually have a shade of brown on my toenails. I don't like to see bare toenails. |
