our bathroom has been blue for years im so tired of it one problem
our sink bathtub floor and tiles are blue !
is there a color that matches good that i can paint the walls get towels shower certains and little things any ideas since i rent i wont get new tubs tiles and stuff


thats my actual color sink and tile its not even the same blue!lol

I need decorating tips too, but would a light beige go well with the blue?

I would probably go with white -- I know -- boring! LOL! But keeping a simple blue and white theme is easy on the eye.

Oops -- I see you are already wanting to stay away from white. How about a pretty yellow then. You can find lots of daffodil sort of yellow accessories -- or daisies!

Our son and daughter-in-law just moved into a house that has that same color of blue in both bathrooms...full tub/showers, stools and sinks and the bad thing is they're brand new! Who still uses this color for new bathrooms?? Oh well...they'll have to live with them until they can justify changing them out.

Anyway...we went to Wal Mart and found a very pretty shower curtain that has deep rust/red, tan and a small amount of that blue in it and there are accessories to match. Once the shower curtain was up and pulled closed it hid the shower walls and tub and didn't look too bad. I told her she ought to put a tank and seat cover on the toilet (even though no one really likes those things :rolleyes: ) and that would hide that too. There's not much to do with the sink but with sooo much of the blue covered, rust colored rugs, matching towels and the accessories it doesn't look bad.

There's also the big trend of using brown with that color of blue...then you'd be right in style but that's pretty contemporary. Good luck!

I just saw your pics and I think yellow would look great. Just a buttery yellow though. That's one color that is so hard to get right. You might try going to Target and looking at their Shabby Chic collection. I think white would be another good choice because it would make your blue pop. Target is so reasonably priced and if your renting I wouldn't want to invest alot of money. Also if you find a shower curtain you like you can take it to Home Depot or Lowe's and have them match your paint color exactly with their computer. I hoped I helped a little bit. Be sure and keep us posted.

ours is REALLY old weve been living here for over 11 years and it was in here before us :eek: :eek:

That's actually more of the color that I was thinking of. I swear, if something is the primary colors, I'm totally confused! LOLOL

I had a tan color in mind but said light beige...go figure!

I like a chocolate color...you know how polka dots in that color are put on a chocolate background??

I think it would make it look very modern. Let me know if you don't know the color combo I'm talking about and I'll try to find a picture.

:thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup: That's what i was thinking - the tan, camel or khaki colors would go nice with the blue then you can add some bamboo decorations/blinds and candles always use candles. The beach and bamboo look is nice and easy to shop for. Lots of stuff to choose from. I know you said you like color but you already have alot of color with all the blue.

Just some ideas hope they help- Some people don't really know how to use the bamboo deco. I have it everywhere - I like the zen look

I think most of what I've seen has chocolate brown, blue and white...I don't know that I've seen any with tan but it's all in what you like. Maybe tan, blue and white? You should use at least 3 colors to balance the blue. Maybe you should head for your local paint store and get some paint cards...then you can match something to the blue at home with your lighting. I had my paint cards taped up on my wall for weeks before I decided which one I wanted to use. I had them on the wall next to the kitchen doorway and on the wall above the fireplace next to the t.v...that way they were in the places we looked at the most and it helped me decide.

I love the the blue and brown look. We are going to do my daughters bathroom in brown and blue. We are going to paint the walls brown and put a Blue stripe (horizonal) around the room, or 3 different shades of blue in color block squares on the wall. Also you could have vertical stripes on the walls. I think that would look so good.

I painted my bathroom green once and put 3 differnt shades of purple in diamond shapes around the room. It looked pretty good.

I have seen bathroom accessories in stripes with differnent colors. So you could do white walls with blue, red, yellow and green striped accessories like a multi colored stripe rug and cutains but a blue shower curtain with stripe valance and blue towels with a red and yellow wash cloth folded over. I have all these ideas in my head.

And finally I think tha yellow walls would look good too with maybe daisys or sunflowers...If you like flowers.

I don't know how old your daughter is, but I took this picture at a model home. I wanted my grand babies room to look like that. I thought it was just adorable. Here's the pic.

i need to redecorate also well i need to just decorate. i havent really decorated since i moved in.

i have marilyn monroe on my walls and i have a prety blue beset. i will try to find a pic of the bedset so that i can get some ideas around it.

i will be back with a pic i hope

No your right. She probably wouldn't appreciate the bug room. My youngest daughter is 19. Darn it.....someone needs the bug room for their little girl.
