o any of you have teenagers that drive you nuts I have a 17 year old daughter that treats me like I'm from Mars, I think it's her, and she comes for Pluto. She complains that I don't spend anytime with her, and then if I ask her if she would like to do such and such with me she looks like I'm crazy, and says Nooooo. The only time she's interested in being with me is when she wants me to buy something for her. Nothing for her, then she doesn't want to be bothered. Her other complaint is we never have anything in the house to eat. I can spend $400.00 on grocery's, and she'll still say there's nothing in this house. I even ask her before I go what she would like, and it still makes her mad. I think they should have an Island where all teenagers have to go until their 20. If they can take each others nonsence for all that time, they can come home. Crazy, she drives me crazy. |
She sounds perfectly normal to me :) My kids where exactly like that.... |
its not that there is nothing to eat in the house.... its just not what she wants :p. Just keep telling your self 3 more yrs and she wont be a teen. Just 3 more yrs :p |
HAHAHA in some cases it takes till they're 30 to actually leave the teen years...hang in there mom !!! I like the Island idea !! |
I've got FOUR teenaged boys and my girl is 11 going on 2:rolleyes: What you describe is the norm, unfortunately:laugh: Just RIDE it out! haha! |
I need a one-way ticket to that island for my BF's son who's 16 and EXACTLY like your daughter - aaaaggghhhh!!!! |
I have a 13 year old and my head is going to explode today. I am so aggervated at her I could scream! She thinks that she should have privacy and I have no right to intrude in her life. |
All I have to say is -- this too will pass -- and one day you willl miss it :) |
that sounds pretty normal to mee! that's how my two brothers and myself where when we were teens.. LOL my parents would cook and buy lots of groceries, but of course we'd always complain "theres nothing to eat".. totally normal! and i think it's normal for her to do that whole spending time with you thing.. i did that with my mom, and i mean i loved her buying me things, we did get a lot closer and eventually i stopped having her buy me things and when i got a job i bought her stuff :p |
Okay, you and Villette have this all wrong. There should be an island where all the parents of teenagers can go until they grow out of it:ip: Mine will be 15 in June and thought I was a terrible mom because I made him take out the trash, do his own laundry, clean the kitchen. All this after I'd worked all day to feed, clothe and house him for all this time on my own. I'm surprised he didn't call CPS on me. Now, he's living with his grandparents in Carlsbad, NM - a 12 hour drive away. I was devastated at first, now I'm loving it. He comes home in a couple of weeks for Spring break. It will be interesting to see if his attitude has changed any. My theory has always been that parents don't get brains until the kid turns 25. Hang in there:p |
 Sorry, i'm 18 and I don't understand why some teenagers are like that. Don't worry she'll come around. |
