WOW, what gorgeous pics!!! It's my dream for us to someday make enough $$ to get there, I've heard it's mucho expensive to stay and play there.

Tracy, I hope you do go someday. It can be very expensive, but it totally depends on how you travel. You can certainly spend a lot for a week if you are staying at one of the big resorts in Kaanapali or Kapalua where you room alone will be more than $300/night and $250/day to eat meals!! Most folks who do this will never leave those areas and think that is what Hawaii (or whatever island) is all about. The reality is that most of these resorts are man-made and you will miss so much by doing that. Plus the resorts are so big that you can walk almost a mile from your hotel building to the beach!!

There are tons of beautiful condos for rent. We have had lots of success not spending more than $100/night for a condo. We then buy groceries for breakfast/lunch/snacks and beverages (about $150 for the week) and eat dinner out. Dinner prices can range from McDonald's to Ruth's Chris. We always rent a car because there is so much to do just driving around. There are lots of tours that can be booked as well. The most expensive part of the tirp for us is airfare. From Michigan, if we can find airfare in the $800/person range - we jump on it!!

I enjoyed your pictures, they are so beautiful. I have to agree with Val your hubby is a hottie!! Of course you are just as beautiful as he is, so you make a gorgeous couple. Congrats on the 26 years of marriage. I love all of the info you have on the Hawaiian islands, you are so knowledgable about them. We still hope to go soon, maybe not this summer, it is SO expensive. If it weren't for the flight being so pricey we would definately be going, we have to buy 3 adults and one child. Welcome home.
