So ticked, need advice! Okay, so we listed my daughters chinchilla for sale on another forum. It was a really hard thing to do. We really enjoyed having Charlie (the chin) but he was such high maintenance, that she couldn't keep up with it. I thought I found him a really good home and the couple came yesterday to pick him up. We gave them a really good deal (he came with all his supplies including three story cage, book, sand, litter, two bags of food, ball, etc) and he's only 7mths old. It was a hard goodbye for my nine year old, but she was relieved in the end. This morning, the girl calls and says she thinks she's allergic to him and wants to return him. :( :( I'm soooo mad because I know that I should allow her to return him and get a refund, but I don't want to. LOL. Ugh. *sighs* I'm just so upset right now. :( |
That happened to us with my dtr's guinea pig. We took Alfalfa Sprout back (no $ involved) and ended up keeping him the rest of his life. Sad part is, my dtr was allergic to him, also. That was why she found him a new home. I'm kinda glad it worked out that way. At least I know Falfie was safe and EXTREMELY well fed :D . (even tho I was the one that had to keep cleaning the cage and bathing him). |

I'm so torn. Part of me just wants to keep him and take on the responsibility but I'm so busy with work and school and the 3 cats and Bella and the house and Ari... *sighs* We do take gooood care of him and that's why it was soooo hard to give him up, fearing that someone else would neglect him. |
It's a tough decision. You want to know for sure that little creature is in good hands. I just don't have the heart to let go of anything I have taken into my care and heart. (I was glad we took Falfie back ;) ). Good luck with whatever you decide. |

The girl that bought him returned him yesterday. I decided not to partake in the exchange (hid in the bathroom) because I wasn't quite sure I had my temper in check. So I guess we get to hang on to Charlie the Chin. Perhaps it's meant to be. I'm a firm believer in God works in mysterious ways so we'll see what happens. :) |
:bravo: Yippee! Charlie is where he should be. Every time you clean his cage, just grin and say to yourself "I love you Charlie and I know you are safe." (You may also grit your teeth and grumble under your breath at the same time :D ). You won't regret it. I think Chin's are beautiful. |
